quote:So if the passing was so limited in attempts, why didn't LSU run all over Northwestern State?quote:See, that makes the OP's point-he missed 10% of his passes in that game. Ten freaking percent fell to the ground. Unacceptable. The only reason he wasn't benched after that game is because Unglesby hadn't freed the anointed starter yet.
our starter only threw 10 passes, and he was 9/10 that game
LSU ran MORE running plays against Northwestern State than it did against Western Kentucky.
Yet, LSU against 116 more yards against Western Kentucky.
Please, keep going with this argument. You're only waist deep, you can keep digging.

Of course this is not to mention that much of the sample that JJ has in his benefit are in games that are already decided by the time that he comes in
Bama being the exception of course

more reliance on up the gut running (which was a problem last night also)

I was at both games, and I don't remember the NW game score being in doubt at halftime. Maybe you can help me if I'm wrong-what was the halftime score in that game? Did JL play in the second half?

i dont know why people are bitching. every team we have played other than bama, has been severely undermanned against LSU. The letters of the school dont mean shite.

oh our D was not good last night. i think everyone agrees with that so it's not even worth discussing
Come on.

our offense still controlled how long it stayed on the field. we were really bad at staying on the field in the first half

I was commenting on Ice Cold's comparison and sample size.
But, again, you knew that.

yeah but that cuts both ways, and ice was obviously just being obtuse for the sake of being absurd/funny
i'm still curious how JJ, when he doesn't run the option at all, opens up our rushing game

Wow, you and I really have a different definition of what an "offensive explosion" should look like. If we beat a middle school team 100-0 and ran for 1,000 yards you would probably be chirping as well?

Jefferson might not be a great running QB; however, he picks up yards. He picked up 31 yards on three carries last night.
Offensive threats attract defensive attention.
The same thing happened last year.

I really think last night was more just trying different stuff with both qb's in a game situation and not a accurate depiction of our actual offensive philosophy

but he was no threat to run b/c we weren't running option or out of option formations

i didn't do this

Other than the Bama game it appears that Lee has improved throughout the season though
Playing against Oregon when you weren't slated to be the starter going into the season isn't easy.
Oh, I agree. I was just speaking to that other dude's point.

Shouldn't LSU have their best game against a Sun Belt team?

And were responsible for another 2 points by giving up a safety.
