The trailer fee and $40 parking was the beginning of the end for the fan experience.

Fans are tailgating less, less fans on campus, fewer fans in attendance, etc...

Even as few as 4 yrs ago, tailgates had twice the amount of people than were actually going to the game. Now, you have people going to the game and only a few just coming to tailgate and soak up the atmosphere. This all means less money for the BTR economy.

Probably because they aren't pussies that think it's wasting their time to go to an event they enjoy with their family that only happens 7-8 times a year just because the competition level is down.

pay ridiculous amount of parking

I know LSU charges for SOME parking, but I have never once paid for a parking spot and I always park on campus.

Yeah, I typically don't even drink at the games and my dad sure as shite never drank when he took me to games when I was a child.

Asking people to show up to games where you could probably field a better squad in the BR-Metro HS area than the one playing on the field is the definition of time wasted.

Apparently over half the stadium agrees with me as they never even show up anymore.

This is so pathetic.

There is PLENTY of free parking on campus.

Ya'll also realize other campuses charge to park on gamedays right? That phenomenon doesn't lend itself solely to LSU.

Right. My father taking me to games and getting hang out for those few hours on game days was such a waste of both of our time.

Getting out to campus early and eating breakfast and strolling around with my wife and getting to watch LSU play a football game is such a waste of time

This is quite the exaggeration. I'm pretty sure the stadium is and will be more than 50% full when we play weaker opponents. Maybe not at halftime, but at kickoff it most certainly will be.

the first home game will be packed at kickoff

by halftime, not so much. it's become much more of a seen and be seen social event.

I actually do. they are a huge ripoff if you stop and think about it. you can pay way over face value for bama. face value for ole miss. pay next to nothing for the rest and you come out saving a ton and will probably have better seats than you would if you had season tickets. in the past few years getting tickets this way has taken very little effort.

I can afford it. I'd rather know where I'm sitting, and have the flexibility of not having to look for tickets every week. I can tailgate, or leave home late and arrive just before kickoff without scrambling to find a ticket.

Mudminnow, Your exactly right, LSU has ruined the LSU experience by out pricing its real fans. Now they have to replace thoses out priced, fans who leave a halftime or just stay at the tailgate socializing because they dont care to go to the game anyway.

This is really a slap in the face to LSU Season ticket holders who just had the price INCREASED on them. Then you turn around and sell the shite games for nothing to anyone out there at a reduced price?

Is that why I witnessed people parking down as far as Brightside and walking to the stadium last year?
