What a huge game this is. At the end of the year the NCAA selection committee loves road wins against ranked opponents.

When the committee sees a home wim they yawn and say so what, but they stand at attention when they see a road win

Well yea, turnovers are never good...but it's good with bad. As aggressive as he is and as fast as we can go we will have TO's. Him playing slower with fewer turnovers hurts his overall game, and then it hurts our overall game

Very true. Though this is a game where that may also play into exactly what West Virginia wants. It will be a chess match coaching this game. I think both Martin and Mickey played really well in half court sets when they were not double teamed last night. I was impressed by both of them. Martin had a great step back and Mickey used fakes to get his defender in the air and took it to him. It showed me we could play half court thru the post or thru Gray getting inside.

Nice job SOS. LSU is capable of springing the upset but I have to lean to a close loss. Hopefully they take the next step up and prove me wrong.

LSU can only dream about getting 7k out to watch a basketball game.

LSU gets 5 figures each year for Kentucky.

SEC/Big12 Challenge Schedule:

Wednesday, Dec 3rd

8pm - Auburn @ Texas Tech (ESPN3)

Thursday, Dec 4th

6pm - LSU @ West Virginia (ESPN2)
6pm - Baylor @ Vanderbilt (ESPNU)
8pm - Arkansas @ Iowa St (ESPN2)
8pm - TCU @ Ole Miss (ESPNU)

Friday, Dec 5th

6pm - Texas @ Kentucky (ESPN)
8pm - Florida @ Kansas (ESPN)
8:30pm - Missouri @ Oklahoma (ESPNU)

Saturday, Dec 6th

11am - Oklahoma St @ South Carolina (ESPNU)
2:15pm - Kansas St @ Tennessee (ESPNU)

I can't see the SEC doing any better than 5-5 but will likely go 3-7 or so. Would be huge if we were somehow able to win a few more.

Simply using KenPom probabilities:

Auburn @ Texas Tech (28%)
LSU @ West Virginia (19%)
Baylor @ Vanderbilt (38%)
Arkansas @ Iowa St (35%)
TCU @ Ole Miss (70%)
Texas @ Kentucky (85%)
Florida @ Kansas (24%)
Missouri @ Oklahoma (10%)
Oklahoma St @ South Carolina (43%)
Kansas St @ Tennessee (56%)

I think UK, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Tennessee are pretty decent shots. Otherwise great games are needed for wins by LSU, Florida, South Carolina, Vandy.

Losing 7/10 would be quite embarrassing. Have to hope for some upsets.

I think Arkansas beats Iowa St. I could see 4/6 split.

Does breaking 5-5 help boost the view of the SEC overall?

I understand Texas Tech isn't great, and West Virginia is very solid. But Auburn should not get a better percentage than us...yes I'm nitpicking, but f the world

Certainly couldn't hurt. Still depends on who which games are won and which aren't... Who really cares if Ole Miss beats TCU or Auburn beats Texas Tech? Those are two bottom dwellers in both leagues. I guess you could say that makes our conference deep, but not necessarily contenders for more NCAA bids.

It's all based on odd he's picked up over years. At the end of the day after about a 100 ranking, there's not much of a difference between 100-200 in rankings, while there is a significant difference in teams between 1-100. That shows in instances like this.

However, I felt he had LSU too low to start the season which is reflected. But I mean, look at our actual results rather than what we see as future expectations and it is pretty reasonable.

We opened at 7.5 point underdogs. Going to be a tough game obvioulsy but nice to head in to that matchup with some confidence and momentum. Really curious to see if the guys can handle their first game together in a true road environment. Need our Big 4 to all have solid games to have a realistic shot.

LSU seems to play its best games against better teams (Kentucky twice last year, UMASS) so hopefully they show up big in Morgantown tomorrow night. This team makes me nervous playing on the road but if we outrebound them and cut down on the turnovers there is a chance we could come out with a win
