no, we aren't. We won't be back there until Davis and Emery reach their potential. We're probably a little better than last year but still not really close to LF, Guice, Jeremy Hill, etc production. Helaire is not that good.

And we are very capable of running down their throats when we want to.

I do think we will see some of that.

Also this is the type of RB play in the NFL now.
All of our backs seem to be good catching the ball out of the backfield.

This bodes well for recruiting.

Oh please. LSU has been a power running team since God was a boy. For them to think that just because we changed up our offensive philosophy that we forgot how to run the damn ball is retarded.

2011 averaged about 30-50 yards less per game than years with Buga & Guice. In addition, no one from the 2011 team really had that breakaway speed that gave us those beautiful big plays by Guice, Hill, & Fournette.

Let's not discuss the 2011 offense as a positive. It was pretty sad and cost us one of the great seasons in CFB history.

If the heat plays a factor and if LSU has a depth advantage, then the 4th quarter will be very one-sided. One-sided on both sides of the ball. Could get ugly.

No, they are not the same as a running game. We failed to open up holes so it is a concern. I partially attribute that to a vanilla running game plan but we will need more production.

Read on another site where LSU ran SEVEN offensive plays. They ran them from multiple formations. Don't think they went four or five wide.

SE and JB didn't show much either.

LSU was 56th in the country in rush yards per game last season.

LSU's 122 on the ground against Georgia Southern was 52nd in the country through week 1.

I don't think LSU is a threat to run the ball up and down the field on Saturday. Texas seems to do well against the run.

The point I was trying to make earlier is that virtually every HS, College, and University in Texas runs the same offense and defense. LSU has a library full of film on this stuff. Sumlin and Patterson, etc. We ran the ball down their throats with great success. Hermann at UH literally had to win track meets because of the poor defense they played. Run the ball, dominate ToP, wear them down.I know it sounds Milesesque, but it works against Texas schools.

Their fans can think this all they want, but I can guarantee the Texas coaches are not thinking this in their prep meetings.

I really hope that the team is focused like the GASO game. I have a feeling they will be. If so I see a convincing LSU win. I fully expected the offense to come out and sputter and cough and wheeze, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Kudos to CEO. Now let's beat Texas and abate the pride of their arrogant and haughty fan base.

what does any of that have to do with what I posted about showing almost zero of it's "O" against GA southern?

If you think horns will be consistently successful running against the LDU "D" you are in for a long and heartbreaking night.

imagine what Guice or Fournette would have done in this offense. Fournette would have won the heisman twice. He essentially won it once.

For the first time in forever, no loading up the box on us as we now even have a real screen pass! When was the last time LSU had not one, but several RB's that can catch out of the backfield as well? The RB's have unlimited potential, just more a question of who plays? I love the short passing game as well. Plus, our WR's have another year of experience and I believe we will see better pass routes and less drops this year.

Also, the tight end position is more than just a small offensive lineman. We are using them more in the passing game!!

Then this is one more area where we'll surprise them (among others). We could have rushed for 200+ yards against GASO if that was the game plan. I expect us to run the ball well Saturday.

That's a pretty sad post.
2003 lost to a lesser UF squad, 2007 lost 2 OT games to lesser opps, and 2011 is still one of the greatest.

2011 is a top 5 all time LSU scoring offense (TDs rush and pass only).
Miles has 4 spots,
Saban 1,
Ed has 0, so far, and him joining the club would be a "positive".
