Glad I left before you took that picture. It is freaking miserable with no seats. Though the reason they did it is that the structural support was having to be fixed every week and it wouldn't pull all the way out. They are going to have to do a major overhaul on that section to get it ready for ticket holders

I know the past two years the attendance has been poor; probably because of two NIT quality teams.

My first year at LSU was Shaq's first year when CJ was a soph. and we had Stanley Roberts also. LSU played the Russian team and the PMAC was PACKED for an EXHIBITION game.
The PMAC was an awesome experience then and I don't understand two things: 1. Why LSU fans gave up on the program 2. Why LSU ruined the student section by realigning the seats.

Can't pin it all on Brady. From 94-99 we didn't win anything. 99-00 we go to the Sweet 16 and the PMAC was rocking. 01-04 it was hit or miss...05-07 it was pretty damn good, but not great. Brady's last year when we sucked, the attendance did too. Even last year it was only pretty good.
The bottom line is, we haven't won on a consistent basis since the early 90s. If we can do this, interest will generate.

The media table is not used solely for ad space...it is used for...well..media. The radio broadcasts take up a couple of sections. You can't move them. You can't say put them on the other side...that is where TV and the official scorer and stat crew sit. There is not enough room under the baskets for all the writers. It is logistically impossible to do what you are suggesting. Sorry. They tried some courtside seating a few years ago...and obviously it didn't work because they got rid of it.

I go to every game and yep you guessed it, I am 10 hours away on Christmas vacation.
An above poster is correct. Most of the students that go are the same ones and student body wide the support is not great. I firmly believe though with consistent winning that the support will go up. I just don't want any of that bullshite "well you should need winning" or "in my day it was better".

Like i said, i went. No one was there. Why in the frick would i sit ona bleacher when i could sit in a normal seat. More students went than you think. Oh and why don you guys complaining go to the fricking game? Once the game starts you can walk in. If you want to get there before then buy a $5 dollar ticket. Student section sucks and if you include the band then yes there were more students than others at that game.
oh and you do know that when that section fills up students are still sitting all over the upper sections. Seriously, students go home, some are in school still, and you can walk in for FREEEEEEEE after the game starts. This city is full of tiger fans. Why dont they go? Tired of hearing this shite for every sport.

I've seen several people say "when they start winning". LSU basketball was in the final four in 06, and won the SEC last year. Add to this the fact that LSU has had quite a few exciting players come through the program...and I don't understand the fan support at all.
I would say maybe Baton Rouge isn't a basketball town, but it has been in the past.
One issue I see is that when a casual fan walks up to the box office to get a ticket _ they can only buy a 300 level seat, and usually it's on the baseline. Those seats are pretty shitty vs the 100 and 200 level seats. Then you get in and look around - the seasonticket holder seats are empty.
The concessions in the pmac are ridiculous too. Bottle of water is 3 bucks. Regular size bag of m&m's- 3 bucks.
There are huge blocks of parking close to the pmac that aren't being used by anybody. A handicapped lot that can hold about 100 cars with 3 cars parked there. Another lot right nexrt to the pmac for reserved parking gthat almost noone parks in.
I'm going to go to all the basketball games I can regardless, but I can see a lot of room for improvement.

In order to appease the "masses" at Tigerdroppings.com, from now on I am instead of going home for Christmas break staying in Baton Rouge for the basketball games and sleep on the ramp of the PMAC. I urge fellow students to do the same. All I want in life is the approval of the rant
