re: In your younger days, how shy or bold were you about asking a girl out?

Not so much shy as clueless. I had a class in college with a girl who always smiled and talked to me every day. It wasn't until much later that I realized she spent the whole semester throwing mad hints I never picked up on.
God I wish I could go back to college for just one semester knowing what I know now about the game.
I had TONS of female friends that I met in classes. My guy friends would always marvel at that when we would go out and I was always seeing girls that I knew. I was really good at making friends and I was awful at knowing when I could/should explore the next step.
Junior year, a girl and I were friends in a sociology class and we always talked before and after class and exchanged phone numbers in case one of us missed class or something. One day I missed class and called her that night to ask what I missed and I was gonna also maybe suggest that we do something together outside of school....and a dude answered the phone (this was before cell phones). Turned out she was living with her boyfriend that she never mentioned. No big deal....but I think that kinda spooked me a little and I never recovered from it while I was still in college.
Looking back, there were definitely some opportunities that I wish I had tried to pursue. But oh well.
re: Minimum wage in the 1970s would be the equivalent of making almost $56,000 a year now

In the mid 70's when I was a kid, my mom worked 30 hours at $1.75 and my dad worked 40 hours at a plant making $7 an hour. That computes to $1540 a month and $18,480 annually BEFORE taxes....and we lived comfortably.

Leah Vann got slammed all of the time too (she didn’t want to be here) but now Kiki?
Leah sometimes gave good insight and information, but you had to dig through the personal crap on her Twitter to find it and you had to hope she wasn't taking a "mental health" vacation day when something noteworthy happened.

Rectum? Damn near killed em!
In this instance, if I were on the receiving end of all that, I would probably have preferred the "killed him" part. I don't need to rolling around town with a perforated rectum.

I hate relief pitchers. All of them.
I miss Will Harris, early Devo, Pressly, et al. Having a lock-down bullpen used to be so fun.

Sorry, but I can't gloss over the 525 credit score. Younger me--maybe. But not older, "I ain't a charity for your broke arse" me.

Congrats, I guess.
I never really officially "quit" on a season. But I have definitely become much less invested the last couple weeks. It is clear that this just isn't our year. shite happens.

I honestly have not been paying much attention the last couple weeks. Do we know when he injured it?

I would like him to submit a list of his Top 10 thoughts that were running through his mind while he was stuck there.

Is this a Louisiana thing?
I think it is a "Southern white trash thing". And as someone who comes from a long line of Southern white trash, I have been to quite a few weddings with a money dance.

Of course not. JJ looks great when he has Skenes/Crews or 2 top 50 pitchers in MLB like last year. If we do not have a serious talent advantage we get drilled.
This is absolutely the most moronic take that I have seen repeated on this board. You are good at producing them.
