That you think going to a football game is going to cause cases to skyrocket.

Point to where I said I think that will happen:

One of these schools will change their policy. I hope we do, but that would have to be based on modest covid numbers tied to UGA games. On the other hand, if their cases/hospitalizations skyrocket, then I’ll be glad we kept ours.

Our cases are “skyrocketing”. But we are dealing with it.

I’m an lsu fan, but I’m glad I live in Georgia.

No, just all their fake voters are..

Thank you for that. We're pretty suspicious about the whole thing over here in Georgia. Not just fake voters, but a fake response to any of the allegations made regarding the magic appearance of suitcases full of ballots or even an entire building being evacuated for a "water leak." But I digress.

UGA had to shite down their sports facilities last year because people had COVID inside of them

I doubt there will be more than a few percentage points difference in infection rates between the two when it’s all said and done. It would have been a different story before Delta, but that’s the past.

The spread is so wide in public right now and the variants are so much more contagious that crappy masks and even the vaccines won’t be enough. I just tested positive today and had the Phizer shots in April (which are hardly worth a damn vs Delta infection according to early data). I got it from one of my kids, who had to wear masks in all classes in their first 3 weeks back at school. A school that just went virtual for two weeks and is now moving to a staggered schedule because of the extreme number of infections. Two of my kids brought it home and now the whole house has it, vaccines be damned. I know 10-15 breakthroughs outside of our house, as well. If you got the Phizer shot and think it will keep you from getting Delta without a new custom booster, you are mistaken.

Masks poorly worn in hot weather and the vaccines may keep people out of hospitals (which can’t be overlooked). However, just like they didn’t here where I live, they also won’t keep Delta from running around a stadium, no matter what your card says or if you half-arse wear a piece of cloth while screaming for 4 hours.

For anyone who wants to hammer me for glossing over hospitalizations, don’t waste your time. If schools gave a shite about that over making money, we would still be at 1/2 to 2/3 capacity this season. That’s the honest truth. Teams took a hit last year and they need to make their money back. I don’t begrudge that. I just think the mandates for show are empty gestures, especially when paired with a draconian refund policy for those who would simply like the opportunity to defer to next season.

They’re the only 2 that have announced anything. 12 more schools to go. LSU won’t be the only one.

Bank on Vandy being the hardest of hardcore. They were making construction workers excavating outdoors wear masks during the early summer when numbers were way down before Delta showed up. The project manager I talked to said faculty would stop and take pics of anyone with them off OUTSIDE WORKING ON BACKHOES AND DIGGERS and rat them out immediately.

So it could be worse. I remember the same guy said he was surprised that they were so hard-core liberal over there and I just cracked up. He’s new to Nashville.

I have a feeling there won’t be any such vaccine mandates in Arkansas or Tennessee. Maybe not at A&M, either. I would bet Mizzou takes a hard line. Not too sure about the rest of the conference. I am betting most will require masks for show.

Uga as a college is far more liberal than LSU. Take a trip to Athens. I wouldn’t be surprised for students and alums at uga wanting vaccine or negative tests and they reversed the decision
