He said right now its about expanding the popularity of the game. St. John's is a school in New York where the game isn't all that popular. This is the only excuse as to why St. Johns got in over LSU.
So St. John's got in because of NCAA baseball's version of affirmative action?

having a resume that trumps the team that beat you out for arguably the last spot does though

Excellent comparison but hardly the only one that can be made.
This is a particularly "personal" feeling snub. Perhaps this Big 12 homer never got over LSU beating Texas a couple of years ago.
You don't treat a traveling powerhouse like LSU with credentials much more worthy than others, this way without it being personal.

After the automatics, the next best get in. Who finished 8th in the Big East? Do you suggest they are better than LSU?
I'm saying there are a shite load of teams better than LSU. I'm not suggesting anything.

Agreed, and the actual goal the selection team seems to have forgotten.

Would St. Johns finish 9th in the SEC? Would LSU finish 2nd in the Big East?

Are all of the teams in the tourney better? Which ones that didn't make it or better?

does anyone here honestly think st johns would beat LSU in a best of 3 series played right now on a neutral site?

I agree that there are teams better than LSU, but your argument suggests a higher finish in any conference is exclusive as to why they are deserving.

It certainly seems that College Baseball is one sport where the big conferences are not necessarily given more preference over smaller ones.
It's certainly not like Bowl selection for CFB is it.
Applying the Baseball analogy to Football, would be like letting Austin Peay play in the Cotton Bowl because they won their conference.

He doesn't follow college baseball, he just knows how LSU played

The top 64 teams should be picked, regardless of conference affiliation or finish.
The committee put a premium on conference finish. On paper LSU beats St. Johns

I'm not here to argue anything. What does it fricking matter if you think they're better? They aren't in. Win conference games and make tournament and you're in. There is nothing subjective about an argument I've made....
Fact is there is a lot more parity in baseball than football, folks. 9th incoherence doesn't mean you'll Lord over the MAC.

The only thing St. John's has over LSU is a 2nd place finish in the 13th rated conference over a 9th place finish in the 1st rated conference.
Conference strength is a huge factor.

This is not true for the BCS. Winners of the SEC will get in with 1 loss (maybe even 2) over a winner of a lesser conference.

Nah, your a-hole is just burning after the NCAA raped you after your wild assumption LSU would get in for two weeks. From now on, don't even argue against me on the Rant. It's like an automatic L for you.
Sitting here arguing merits of Dallas Baptist... Please. The only argument necessary is the facts. RPI isn't the deciding factor, it's conference results.

Sounds like RPI and conference strength mattered a whole lot.

Actually, I vote for him moron.
Do you really think intelligent reasonable people here believe your debate skills are noteworthy, when strewn with stupidity, laced with rape and burning assholes?
Adding in your absurdly trashy and vile signature pretty, much secures your place in the realm of white trashdom. Go away before you embarrass yourself further.
