And I said obvious, blatant calls. I am sure we'll see some utter garbage calls like were seen in the Ravens/Pats game last week to protect Brady.

Unlike Meyer, the Refs will err on the side of caution and try to protect Tebow as they would come under attack for "not protecting the QB". There will no doubt be quick flags on questionable late hits, etc.

I have no qualms with him playing, but if UF fans start bitching about the hits he takes or the coaches or team does, they can go jump off a cliff. Either play full force or don't play at all.

That is my point. LSU should not be held accountable for his decision to play.

I agree with you. I just think the other side is true too...if he plays I fully expect LSU to play a clean, hard-hitting game.

If he did get hurt I wouldn't hold LSU responsible, unless it was some blatant attempt to do harm. I just don't think people should be quick to jump on Meyer or Tebow's case for wanting him to play when he only do so if a ton of doctors fully clear him. People saying Meyer isn't looking out for Tebow have no idea what they're talking about.

I concur. if a player takes the field, he takes his chances.

If a player is not ready to play, he compromises the integrity of the game as well as his health and future on and off the field.

It is also unfair to the other team to expect it to hold back, because it is entitled to play to its potential in an effort to win.

I don't think anyone expects LSU to take it easy.

Beyond the health issues at play, the concern is that this can affect the ref's calls

Florida fans don't seem to understand that we are worried that LSU will get called for BS calls that will heavily affect the game like was seen last week in the Pats/Ravens game. Brady got hit clean several times, and personal foul after personal foul was called on them when they barely touched him.

I agree as well. I think that the UGA display against UF a while back is in the minds of the refs--e.g. the unsportsmanlike call last week.

Tebow was symptom free last Friday. He was lifting weights last Saturday. He practiced Tuesday.

He has some of the best doctors looking over him. A team of 14 I heard. If he plays it will be at the assurance of SEVERAL medical professions. Not the childlike siblings of some message board mouth breathers making assessments from their mothers basements.

And your attacks on his person would be debated by everyone who has actually met and been impacted by this great young man....

You are the one using football as a measuring stick of importance. Not Tim.

Look you idiot, i not once insulted Tim Tebow. In fact, I gave him a lot of praise you piece of shite. Saying he shouldn't be playing as my medical opinion is not the same as insulting the kid.

I could care less what he does outside of football or if he is Jesus to some of you dolts, he's playing football and he is just like every other player out there when it comes to being hit, and knocked around.

It's not Tebow-there's a huge amount of pressure on him to play, and as talented as he is, he's still a college-age young man. We all make bad decisions at that age. It's Urban Meyer-given the seriousness of the concussion, a responsible coach should not let him play. I don't say this based on my desire for LSU to win. If Meyer let's him play, I will have absolutely no respect for him. Given Tebow's probable future in the NFL, taking a chance with him on this game is irresponsible.

You sure about this? So in your opinion there are absolutely no medical professionals that will comment on message boards like this one?

Au contraire!
If LSU unloads on Tim even once, the "cheap shot" wails emanating from Gainesville will be audible from New York to L.A.
Bank it.

Tebow will very likely be fine and running at 110%. At 240# if he runs over a DB and hurts him, well that'll be A-OK. Turn the tables though, and the UF cry-babies will howl!

He's symptom-free, but all he's done is lift weights. Do you think he was hit in practice? I like Tebow. I think 2 weeks is too soon given the reported seriousness of the concussion. After all, this is just a football game. Why risk it? Seriously, if he was your son, would you want him to take the risk this early.

Sure you did.

if he's stupid enough to risk his health, and so are his coaches and team doctors, then so be it. He's not some warrior if he gets hurt worse by the way for trying to play. He's an idiot who set a horrible example, especially as a supposed Christian, by making a single game of football more important than his health.

Just because you work in the medical field (if, in fact, you do), doesn't make your opinion a "medical opinion", since you don't have all the FACTS, regarding this particular case, do you?

No M.D. worth his salt would offer an opinion on whether Tebow should play with the incomplete facts you have at your disposal.

there sure are a lot of doctors on this board

I'm only one in the doctoral sense, but my hubby (who will mercifully be post-call at 7pm, EST, tonight to enjoy the game from a distance) is and as a neurosurgeon, he is rather surprised that after being "asleep on the field" as he put it with the way his head whipped forward and then bounced off the turf that he would be cleared to play ...

...BUT, he went on to add, if Tim plays, he's confident the consulting docs and UM wouldn't green light him to play if he wasn't able to safely go at full steam. Nor does my beloved hubby, or I believe this fine young Christian man (whose actions off the field in that regard speak even louder than his words ever could) would knowingly deceive and lie to either his coaches or his docs about his symptoms.

Having written all that, you'll understand, I trust, if I wish whichever UF QB who plays tonight a really crappy and unfulfilled, albeit healthy night in Tigah stadium?

Offering an opinion of playing it cautious and safe is actually the more respected medical opinions. I am sorry if you don't appreciate a doctor who cares about their patients utmost health and safety rather than cutting it short just so they can play in a football game.

It is stupid. Nothing is worth risking the kids health. PERIOD. Old saying is "Better safe than sorry"

If you find that insulting, then you UF fans really need to get Tebow's cock out of your mouths. The fact fans were crying after a football player got knocked out was ridiculous and embarrassing.

Honestly, if they're stupid enough/that obsessed with winning to play him, I have no problems whatsoever with him getting knocked the frick out again tonight. In fact, I hope he does. Serves them right.
