Hopeful but highly unlikely. 2 more wins would be a monumental achievement for this football team. [/quote 2 more wins would be a surprise.

Wanna' bet some money on that?? What about the "massive over-reaction" when LSU stomps some patsy?? There were some people claiming that our defense was the modern version of the "Chinese Bandits" after the LMU and SHSU games......they should have known better....

The only explanation I can find for the mindless devotion of some of these posters is that they or a family member work for Les.

In the past 2 seasons, LSU had lost double-digit elite players to the NFL as underclassmen. Miles is a top recruiter... but in the end it hurts his team each year. The stars leave early in droves leaving less experienced players to man the ship. LSU is second, only to Tenn, for playing the most freshmen this season. The result is what we see each weekend.

When is someone going to explain what happened prior to the NC game. It's interesting that nearly every draft eligible player on that team left early.

I'm setting the over under at 6.5 wins for the year.

I agree with this but it happens. Look at Auburn two years ago and Arkansas last year. Look at Michigan for the past several years.

Right now LSU is simply not a very good football team and the rest of the season will be long. We have enough talent to win any game on the schedule but if we keep running the offense the way we are we have very little chance of beating anyone else, including Kentucky.

I know Les is not popular here on the Rant, but why couldn't it just be (I'm talking BH and the offense) the young QB just got overwhelmed in this game. Its easy to just focus on the fact we went 3 and out on our first 4 or 5 drives, but that was a product of BH missing receivers for first downs and making freshman mistakes. I'm sure you guys saw those receivers wide open. With a freshman QB, 2nd and very short is ideal and BH just blew those opportunities. I have faith BH will learn and improve from this horrid performance.

41-7, and the way the offense and defense is playing, and the LSU coaching staff. I'm not sure how anyone can polish this.

After 10 years and a philosophy dating back before many were born, I do blame him.

I hear the same thing almost every year... "put in another QB", "the OL isn't improving", "we need a new OC" (I was on this bandwagon for a while, until I finally had an awakening), "they're playing vanilla now, but wait until the SEC games".

Now it's "need a new DC".

It's the HC.

That's true! It's the HC. BH wasn't prepared....well, the entire team was not prepared. I can't fault the players. They need to be taught and coached. I think they have the potential to be better players. It's a shame.

When will the fools here learn?? This is LSU!! A powerhouse program feared by schools around the country just like Alabama. But in Alabama's down years you don't see them being beaten like this 41-7 and 34-10 after 3 quarters by MSU of all people! Georgia celebrates like crazy last season after a win. Wisconsin would have to if they had won because that is how muh LSU is respected around the country. You need to recognize that!

You clowns that continue to make up excuses for Mile's is the main reason he continues this sideshow coaching act!

Wasn't prepared to throw it to Wide open receivers? I just don't get how that's the coaches fault.

No. It is a commensurate emotional response. It was the worst loss since the 90's. We changed personnel but inexplicably maintained basically the same scheme. I'm a proponent of constructive criticism to effect positive change.

D was pretty awful those first 4 drives when auburn sliced lsu like Swiss cheese. I'm guessin the d was still pretty fresh then.

Yes BH was awful but I didn't exactly see the coaches give him plays/throws to get comfortable. Run out of I formation 3 straight plays and get down by a big score so the d can pin their ears back.

Miles has approached this season like he has that 2012 defense. But he has a D that can't keep the other team out the end zone much less get off the field on 3rd down.

IF the coaches pull the reigns off BH and allow him to make some plays(and some bad ones) I think there's hope for the offense as bad as it was.

I don't know what to say about the defense. Worst front 7 I've seen since Sabans first year but offenses in the west weren't what they are now.

Here's my reality: when LSU got pushed around on both lines of scrimmage by Wisconsin, I spun what I saw into Wisconsin being a good team, knowing they lost their whole front seven on D...after Miss St., there's no denying we suck in the trenches due to a lack of talent and coaching. And the "We're young" excuse doesn't work with the O line. The O line was supposed to be the strength of the team.

BH was awful, and that changed everything in the game...could not sustain a drive, thus the defense was on the field too long...and Auburn is a pretty darn good team, as was Miss State

After watching the replay: agreed.

LSU, imo, has played the two best SEC West teams so far

Alabama is at least as good as the other two teams.

I believe that LSU will at a minimum go 7-5, and potentially 8-4.

We'd have to see big improvement--starting next week--for this to happen. Nothing so far has given me reason to believe the team can improve that dramatically, that quickly.

So much of this depends on immediate improvements from our QBs. IMMEDIATE. I wouldn't bet on this.

You mean a program that use to be feared. Teams lick their chops now when the time comes to play.

I just believe the Rant is not understanding just how much this affects our showing on offense.

Another person that needs to pass the bowl.

We still have Bama, Ole Miss, and aTm. Arkansas might even beat us. This is the year that Miles is unable to hide his miserable coaching with talent. They have talent, just inexperienced.

It is pretty obvious that was Miles with the play calling last night. He will never change because he views himself as an offensive genius. Although he has never been humbled like that so maybe something will snap and he will just let the OC be the OC.
