Knee jerk criticisms for the sake of post counts are not cool. They are pathetic.
This would make up about 70% of the post on TD lately.

quote:The fact that you truly can't answer this question shows you don't know shite about college football, team chemistry, coaching and the importance of leadership at the QB position.
Why is our program at a point where we are "supposed to lose" to anybody? Why aren't we good enough that we are supposed to win? We've gone from a program that thinks it can and should contend for national championships to a program that accepts that it is "supposed to lose" when it faces a true contender.
quote:Maybe you should go back and watch the other 58 minutes of the game. We had lots of opportunities to put that game away early.
We didn't lose to Ole Miss because of an inexperienced quarterback. We lost because of outrageously stupid clock management and play calling on the last possession.
After scoring to go up 17-9, Miles called for an on-sides kick. It was executed perfectly as Peterson had an easy catch past the required 10 yards and along the sidelines to give LSU the ball. He was dragging his left foot as he caught the ball and went out of bounds. His right toe was ruled on the sideline and OM was given the ball along with additional yards for kicking out of bounds. It looked like he made the catch while dragging his left foot in play before his right toe came down on the sideline but the booth ruled in OM's favor.
Then later in that drive we forced a turnover but it was overturned when the replay booth said the players knee was down. It looked like the ball had already started moving before his knee went down and it was called a fumble on the field but they overturned it without conclusive evidence. That was 2 booth calls that went against LSU which led to an OM touchdown and a 17-15 LSU lead. We could have easily had a 15 point lead going into halftime. Instead OM got every questionable booth call and it was a 2 point game.
Your propensity to point at one thing at the very end of the game and say we lost because of that when things are happening throughout the game that determine the outcome show you are not objective about the circumstances that contributed to a loss.

you did not mention that LSU plays 6 ranked teams, including #1 and #3.

Can you believe that the Refs are being blamed for the Ole Miss loss. I vote for Mtn West refs for all LSU games so that we don't have to read about the refs lost us the game !!!

I always appreciate intelligent articles on TD when you can get them. Reading the Miles-haters spout their foolishness gets boring. Yep, TD has gotten boring lately with all the negativity. So thanks Chris for the good read.

quote:No it hasn't and it is only a good read because you agree with it. The fact is it is a puff piece with no real substance to it.

And for that matter, he can't use Jefferson's inexperience as an excuse for anything. He didn't have to have a first year starter in 2009. He had an experienced starter from 2008 available and he simply chose not to use him, probably because he and his staff so completely failed to teach him and develop him so that he wasn't as good as Jefferson, who led the #112 offense in the country. After fricking his quarterback situation up so bad that he had to start over with Jefferson, rendering the 2008 "rebuilding" season a complete waste of time, he cannot then use his own frickup as an excuse.
Well stated and accurate. Add the Malvito co-coordinator decision and that is why LSU is no longer relevent when discussing national contenders. We are not even relevant when discussing SEC west contenders. It is unbelieveable how Miles has destroyed our national presence in two years.

2009 wasn't LSU's year to win the league. Tim Tebow was a senior and Alabama was loaded for bear and hell-bent on championship success. This year, things will be different
Agreed and easily forgotten.
I wonder if 2010 is supposed to be LSU's season.
I know everyone feels that 2011 is LSU's season (schedule, Superdome venue for NC game, talent rotation, etc..)

Its amazing how your hatred for Miles has blinded you so badly that you can no longer see anything positive. Its kinda sad actually.

Chris, you were so missed. Your writing is one of the truly good things about Tiger Droppings. The majority appreciate your opinion we just don't put it in writing enough. Thanks.

That was a great article as I was sipping my Kool Aide yesterday morning.
I watched a replay of the 09 LSU vs Ole Miss game yesterday evening.
Now not so great.

Damn I wish I could write like that. Your observations are spot on.

I'm not making any accusations here, or even insinuating anything, but ... it wouldn't come as a shock to me to learn that Les tripped back in the day. Coupla hundred tabs of Orange Sunnshine back in '67 or '68 could have a life-changing affect on just about anyone. That's what I've heard at least.
