I like Les Miles, but at this point I don't think he can recover from the damage with the fanbase.

It will be tough. A trip to SECCG would really help.

clayton??? your kidding right. next thing your gonna tell me is he would have signed M. Hill too in the words of ocho cinco..child please.

LSU GD... results are one thing but the process used to get those results is much more important. As somebody already mentioned, performance based analysis is a much better way of judging a coach, rather then result based. If the performance continues to suffer then eventually so will the results.

And I do call for miles to be fired because you should never put off the inevitable according to the best AD in the country Jeremy Foley. Miles will not last another 3 years and if he does last that long, the foundation of the program will be so eroded it will be like starting over.

ANd I wouldnt be so upset if miles was not making top 10 coach money and losing 2-5 games a year, but he is. We deserve better for 4mil a year.

AND....and when will the ranturds quit the $4million bullshite?
lsu offered $4mil to KEEP miles (from michigan) and to reward him for the n.c.
what idiot would pay him less that what al was paying the slut who left us?
and, wow, their season tickets allow them to boo young college atheletes?
and, wow, the cost of their trailer trash rental gives them the right to question people who live in houses?

yea and he is 8 and 8 in the last 2 years in the SEC since saban's players have left with only 1 win in november during that time. Since the players saban brought in have left, miles's sec record gone down hill

This and the Ole Miss game are the only things Miles haters have to complain about. They do not want to admit, developing a QB while on the field is much harder then developing one on the bench, thus the reason for the 8-8 SEC record the past two years. We dont play in a creampuff conference. A more exp JJ next year I feel very comfortable with.

Nope. stupid comment grandad. We all support LSU and want Miles to succeed. most here ignored all the telltale signs we saw from the begining to give him a chance. We gave him 5 years and that is enough. all the clues i listed previously cannot be proven wrong if you know anything about football and go back and watch every game. it is there. yet we still overcame some of it due to talent and good assistants. Miles could not actually coach his way out of a wet paper sack. waste of money on a CEO type coach. Give me a guy who has strong game and player mangement. give me a guy who has strong on the field discipline as far as penalties and where to line up. Give me a guy with great player development. and give me a guy who can call one side of the balllike 95% of other head coaches.

When Joe Dean paid Gerry DiNardo $480k per season and there were no seat surcharges and TAF donations for season tickets and you could get free tickets to any game you wanted anyway, Miles would have been good for LSU.

I have some good news for you. They are in the process of adding about 12,000 or so seats at Bryant-Denny in Tuscaloosa so you can probably get tickets and join the Sabanation.

So, if LSU wins Cap One and finishes in in top 10, you're on record as endorsing his pay.

which shows you know absolutely ZILCH about player mangement, game management, player development and on the field discipline which we have been sorely lacking in for the last 5 years. also clearly you have not watched a game and cannot determine these things proving AGAIN you know nothing about how to evaluate based off of performance.

funny how bama has a brand new qb who has never started a college game going into this year, but they are about to play in the NCG. funny how other teams routinely do it, but we can't.

And the saying 8-8 is all i have to hang my hat on...are you retarded? thats a pretty fricking big hat rack. If you are ok with mediocrity while paying for excellence then good for you...guess what most of us are not.

I want Miles to succeed. I would hate for LSU to have to grow through the growing pains of a new coach, and frankly don't see a lot out there I would take as a slam dunk at this point.

That said, I have little hope for Miles. Next year will be very difficult if he doesn't fundamentally change a LOT of things in his program, the way he carries out his business. What I want and what i see are two different things I cannot reconcile.

He has time, will have time. He isn't getting fired this year or probably next. Les will be here and hope he can succeed. But, I can tell you with certainty that unless Les makes some changes, big changes LSU will have a new coach in '12.

Dude, most of us don't call for Miles to be fired. Keeping Crowton and Studwara would be the stupidest move he could make and it looks like that's his plan. Really sad that he cares more about his assistant coaches than his players and team.

i think that accurately sums up most of what people think.

you [lsugrandad] make it sound like everyone wants miles fired. i don't and i agree with you about him having earned another year.

however, i think people have seen enough of the wizard and Hiawatha or sitting bull or whatever the frick his name is. especially Hiawatha because our o-line has no technique, no footwork, no cohesiveness, no spirit, and no frickin skills. and its not their fault. its coaching.

calling to fix the problem =/= negatiger.

now if miles knows something we don't about the internal dynamics of the team and he keeps the wizard and sitting bull and we rock next year then hell yeah.

but if we dont rock and we see the same thing in '10 as '09 and '08 then that means miles kept them at the expense of the players and the team because he was too lazy or too stressed or shittin his pants to hustle and go out and replace them, or he was loyal at the teams expense, and that would = firing at the end of next year for failing to do his job.

i think many of us like miles and would like to see the program rock and want to save him the risk of getting fired next year and ask that he sack the wizard and dancing bear now-- because we think there are no hidden secrets or solvable problems-- we think they suck.

make sense?

dude.... just because i dont think miles is the right coach for us doesnt mean that I dont love lsu. Exactly the opposite. I want the best for the university I love. and Miles isnt the best, nor even top 30.

There have been more than poster on here that came out said that they were hoping LSU would lose to Arky.

We gave him 5 years and that is enough

And look what he's accomplished in those 5 years.

This and the Ole Miss game are the only things

1) 8-8 is .500 ball. It's enough on it's own.
2) Ole Miss was one of the most pitiful displays of coaching costing players a win that I have ever seen. Usually you see refs making bad calls and people blame it on that, but the coaching staff was completely unprepared for any eventuality in the final 80 seconds of that game. That's termination in many businesses.

But i venture that you would like to see Miles lose because it would be one step closer to him getting fired. I can understand being upset at a coach but just hating the man, especially after what he's accomplished here, is fricking ridiculous.

I agree on all counts, but will admit that many, many times, the manner that Miles has won has been very close and risky, making one think many of those games could have gone either way.

And a particularly sore area is how he's played many mediocre teams closely.

Miles' performance is very testing to all LSU fans, because there is a lot for the Pros and the Cons to dwell on.

He WILL have another season or two left and I do think with the right OC, he will have some great seasons.
