We had ONE...ONE below par season and that was last year...which ended with a positive note. This was a good year...all of us said 9-3, 10-2 at best...that is not below LSU standards. Who do you think we are? This is not UCONN women basketball..we do not beat everybody on our schedule every year...and we NEVER have been like that. And of course we are better than our record shows because we play in the NFL (SEC). We would have ran the table and would be in a National Championship this year if we were in the Big 10, Pac-10, Big East, or ACC.

You people second guess everything he does. The amount of arrogance that it takes for some fans to think they know more about the game of football than Les Miles is pretty astonishing.
It's not arrogance to think that we should have called a time out at the end of the Ole Miss game.
It's not arrogance to say that we wasted 17 seconds at the end of the game that would have won the game for us.
It's not arrogance to say that our coach is an idiot, he is!
The man is an idiot. This is obvious to most people except for the LSU fans who refuse to believe the truth.

I agree 100% with this. What makes people so ignorant?

Sorry - WE THOUGHT Ole Miss was a top 5 team as well as Ga would be better. We BARELY beat Miss State and Wash (who won 5 games). This is/was not a great coaching performance.

LSU is 14-10 in the SEC the last 3 seasons. That includes the NC season to be fair. LSU was 13-3 in Miles first two seasons. LSU was 13-3 in Saban's last 2 seasons.
You don't see the difference?
And padding your schedule with weak rent a wins to reach 9 wins in a 12 game regular season doesn't do much for me. Struggling to beat them is even worse.
It's sickening that you fools can't even acknowledge that even by results LSU is in a downturn, let alone the actual play on the field and mismanagement by the coaches. LSU deserves better.

You're right. We need to learn to accept failure. We should be happy with underachieving.

Erroneous. I go to LSU and most everyone who I come across who knows anything about the program and our school does not think it necessary or desirable to fire Miles. Also I am a native of south Louisiana and of course know as many LSU fans as anyone....most feedback I get does not indicate a want for Miles to go. If we would fire Miles today, we would be made a laughing stock in the media for firing one of the most successful football coaches in the country. Only people who have short memories, buy into the moment, and jump the gun think he should be gone.

I live in the mid-west and People here ask me all the time "WTF" is wrong with him! I wear my gear proudly, but I shake my head when I get ripped about crap he says or stupid calls he makes. I go to a BWW to watch the games and am usually alone. I always point to he BEAT Stoops when Kansas and Mizzou couldn't!

I am willing to back him for one more season. I like the way this class is shaping up and I like the coaches he is bringing in. i watched the u earlier tonight and what did irvin say... Jimmy left the team in good shape, but Erickson still had to be the general to lead them to a national title. Not saying miles even compares, but not just any body can come in and consistantly win 10 games. With a win in orlando i would be very happy with the way this season ended and will be looking forward to hopefully getting our 5th out right western division title next season. Les def has his work cut out for him and may not be able to do it. He is our coach whether people like it or not and I will continue to support LSU it's players and coaches.

The only thing about this is that he is forced to bring in the coaches he has at this point.
Porter - Memphis
McCarthy - NCAA violations
I won't argue with who he has hired and I won't pass any type of true judgment until after the bowl. But, he hasn't really addressed anything besides what he was forced to.

yes i agree, but wouldnt you say it is an improvement of what he was forced to do in 07? It could be worse.
we are about 9 months away until i would even consider firing him.

Let's all blame Miles'...it's the cool thing to do right now. frickin' sheep.

Are there coaches out there who could do better than Les? IMO, yes (including Patterson, probably some NFL guys, Saban among others). That's what maddening to this. Many feel if we could replace Les with one of these then we could compete for and win championships on a yearly basis.
Is Les that bad? IMO, no. Everyone of the above coaches has his share of skeletons in his closet.
As for '09, consider Bama and UF this year. Bama struggled against Tenn, SC, us, and Auburn and could've easily lost three of those games (and note that 3/4 were home games for them).
Consider UF (with all 200 starters back from their '08 NC season). They too struggled against Tenn, us, Arky. before getting their lunch handed to them in the SECCG.
The SEC is a tough conference period. If Les can learn from his mistakes and we can improve even a little bit we should win the SEC next year.
