I understand where u are coming from but HE QUIT on his team and the university and the fans!!! He did not come prepared and he looked lost.
He fricked JL for life. What he did was sad, very sad.
The 2 above are not acceptable.
Your analogy of all his wins is fine. But, when you bring up all his stupid shite, time errors, bonehead dumb sounding statements, then now quiting on his team and NOT TRYING TO WIN this game.
Since we are so flushed with cash from what the football makes, then I would silently get a Gruden or similar to make a silent commit to coach, then can this loser.

frick you, Les Miles! your players deserved better
Yeah your rant is all about your concern for the players.
Coach Miles has beaten the midget 2 outta the last 3 times. Anyone who said a rematch didnt favor them was an idiot. they had absolutely nothing to lose......they were playing with house money. $abun has laid many eggs and will lay many more. Miles just happened to lay an egg in the BCSCG. These men are football coaches not geniuses.
My money is on Miles to beat bammers hired gun next year in T.S.

But... But... But I thought he was perfect?
People forget about November 5th... Saban had some of the worst play calling at the most pivotal points in the game, but only Les Miles can be called out for mistakes! Almighty nick is perfect in the eyes of butthurt lsu fans

Everyone on this board could win 10 games with LSU's talent and having Pellini and Chavis coaching the defense.

Thats all good but when you get in a NC you are supposed to play well/win.

quote:I wouldn't trade Les for anybody. Last night was a nightmare and I am still devastated today and there was no fire on the field or sideline. Everything was unemotional and uninspired and Les seemed not to care. It was so uncharacteristic of him and this team. And he handled JL very poorly to say the least, but all in all, I wouldn't trade him for anybody. He beat Saban 2 of the last 3 times. He proved he is one of the elite coaches out there, last night was an anomaly, albeit an almost unforgivable anomaly.
He didn't win coach of the year by accident! I mean shite people!! He's a damn good coach! Granted, I have no idea what the frick he was thinking last night, but overall he has been a great coach at LSU. Who would you rather have in his place??
quote:uh, nnnnnnnnnnnno, I don't think so. Last night hurt so bad and will take me a while to recover, but Les is one heck of a coach. One game can't change everything one thinks about a coach, even though he coached way out of the norm and didn't have any competitiveness last night and did things that I may never understand. I was very disappointed in him and the coaching staff last night but he is still an amazing coach when one looks at the big picture. That's how it makes sense in my mind.

Miles Averages 10.7 Wins Per Season
He is an excellent coach and has been very successful. He is nowhere near being on the hotseat, and we are probably lucky he's our coach. He just had this unexplainable obsession with Jordan Jefferson that clouded his judgment and probably cost LSU a national championship, possibly two.
quote:
Did he have a terrible game yesterday? Yes
It wasn't just yesterday. He's had this problem with Jefferson for four years. I have no idea what caused it, but Miles just has a huge blind spot when it comes to Jordan Jefferson.
In the larger picture, Miles is just a very conservative offensive coach. That and a good defense can take you a long way, but it didn't quite take us all the way this year or last. There's nothing inherently wrong with being conservative on offense, but the more disturbing fact is that, when it doesn't work, Miles doesn't seem willing to try anything else.

Except, this isn't a 1 game thing. No coach on the planet has as many embarrassing moments that Miles has. How many times do we have to see Miles on the sideline looking like he has no idea what's going on or what he should do before people realize that's who he is? Did you see when he said he wished he could have done something to help the team? Isn't his job as coach to do something to help the team? Isn't his job to adjust when things aren't working? Try something different?

What? So you have that much faith in Lee? Really? The guy who throws balls up for grabs and starts throwing picks when the o-line doesn't keep him clean would have won the team 2 championships?
People's hatred for JJ and love for Lee really blinds them to other things that caused problems for the team, like o-line play and play calling.

Miles unexplainable obsession with JJ is why our offense has been so bad the whole time he's been our QB. The inability, for four years after the dismissal of Perrilloux, to generate any production or improvement from the QB position (whether from JJ, Lee or whoever) is what cost us this year's championship certainly, and possibly last year's too.

Jefferson sucks at the option. He sucks worse as a passer. Our play calls were designed to focus on what he sucked less at. When the QB can't perform, and another QB is not an option, what else can you do as a play-caller? The o-line has been good this year. I doubt many teams would be as successful as we have been running the ball without any semblance of a threat from the passing game.

And the sole reason for the wins is a high school rich football state where there is virtually zero competition for recruits and all you really need to do is get the recruits and hire good assistants.
However, when Miles is part of the equation (ala last night), that is when things go wrong. He has to make personnel calls and clock management decisions rarely.

2008? He was throwing balls up for grabs that defenders were dropping in every game he played this year. Even against Western Kentucky he had a ball that the defender just dropped. Didn't realize this season's game against Bama actually happened in 2008? The signs were there for what Lee would do against Bama. People just didn't want to see it. I watched every single play of LSU this year, which is why I predicted exactly what happened in the first Bama game. I knew Bama would make Lee pay for the mistakes all the other defenses he played didn't take advantage of. It's like this, if Brees throws those same balls against the 49er's that he threw to Lion's defenders, they will make him pay. Same thing.
