Roll call.
I simply cannot support any calls for the firing of a coach who has won a national championship (less than 1 year ago), has an average recruiting ranking, per Rivals, of approximately 5, and is winning ball games at a rate of around 80%. There would be no logic or justification, since that equals or exceeds EVERY COACH WE HAVE EVER HAD.
Obviously, we are all hurting from a disappointing season, not the results (7-5 is probably only about 1 win shifted from reasonable expectations for the season) but the substance, the "how" of the season. Emotion is powerful, honest, and even legitimate. However, it is a poor change driver for something like this.

No, this was supposed to be a Reloading year. We only call it a rebuilding now cuz we stunk it up.

You won't get Meyer, Richt, Kiffin, or Saban. Petrino will leave as soon as more money comes calling. You don't want Brooks, Johnson, or Croom. So you are left with...Spurrier? Nutt? Tubberville? I mean look at this shite logically and quit hating on the man that I guarantee you were trying to blow just last year when he won a National Championship. While you are whining about him, he'll be out on the recruiting trail scoring us one of the best recruiting classes in our school's history. GFY!

let me start off by saying that I want changes to be made this offseason and I trust that it will happen.....
but this is the type of thread by posters that have bashed Miles repeatedly when things started going downhill, where they can beat their chests and say "I told you so." and proclaim "I was right all along!" This situation with the coaches have been an attention whore's dream. This thread proves my point.

fwiw, a 9-3 record is not a re-building year, it's re-loading...

You forgot to mention that the only reason Miles won a single game in four years was b/c of Saban's players.

I'd like to give him a chance to right the ship. He did win it all last year and turned down Mich.

So, guess you were proved wrong by the national title we won last season, huh? Guess you feel pretty dumb.

You really have to be kidding me. Seriously? Fire a guy who brought us the Crystal last year? A guy who has kept the integrity in tact by letting go of his star QB?
Get off of that ragweed son, Miles is a fantastic coach. Who the heck are you going to get that is:
1) Better at recruiting (right now Miles > Saban et al)
2) Has more integrity (stuck with us during Katrina, turned down Michigan, kicked thugalloux of the team)
3) Has the 2nd best winning percentage in the SEC during his tenure at LSU only behind Meyer?
- Les Miles @ LSU - .7885
- Nick Saban, last 3 at LSU + Alabama - .77
- Mark Richt since Miles @ LSU - .780
- Urban Meyer - .820
You are a moron.

Timing is everything - if Lloyd Carr had stuck around 1 more year Miles would have been able to jump to Michigan with no problem.
Jack Del Rio is way more likely to be had now than he was last year when the Jaguars were heading deep into the playoffs.
Now we're stuck with Leslie for better or worse.
Why would Del Rio be better than Miles? His team is 4-7. Doesn't one bad year mean a coach is terrible?

I'm still a Miles homer.

You know, I just got finished reading coach Dietzel's book "Call Me Coach" and in it he stated that no matter how well you do or what you acomplish as a head coach, there will always be people that dislike you.
LSU has a lot of these types and it makes me sick the way our coaches get treated sometimes. ESPECIALLY by obvious idiots that call themselves LSU fans.

Homer here.
1- RP decision was right and we took the lumps for it.
2- D coaching shiitehole is a decision gone bad. If he fixes it with a good hire, that tells me all I need to know.
3- Discipline, mutiny, yada yada, on the team will fix itself if #2 happens.

While it seems everyone here thinks I am the ultimate "Miles homer", I just like to think that I am just not a "Miles basher".
I think that Miles brought home a NC, and deserves some "wiggle room" this year for that.
It's hard to re focus a team after winning it all, and this year had even more distractions to add to that. (Yes, the DC problem was created by Miles, and as such, it is HIS to fix, which he must)
I am totally an LSU Homer, and to even consider canning a Coach less than a year after he brought a crystal football to BR would be a disaster for LSU, and we'd likely never get a decent coach or assistants again if that became our mode of operation.
So for today, I support the Tigers with the coach at the helm, and pray for the changes that will put us back in the running where we belong.

Miles has beaten every Coach in the SEC except Richt & Petrino in Fiddle Rock
Miles hasn't beaten the hogs since he called us AR-Kansas. Instead of being so cocky and gutsy, he might try and learn a little humility and strategy. The guy sure is liked alot for someone that appears as dumb as a box of rocks.

Miles hasn't beaten Arkansas 2 years in a row; none of it has to do with how he pronounced it. Revel in your "streak"; I imagine it's as close to a success as that program's gonna' sniff for awhile.
Oh, and be very careful about walking around throwing stones in glass houses. Arky fans should use the word "dumb" on when giving self-descriptive commentary.
