See, there you go again. You're trying to start a
over the relative talents and abilities of obscure defensive backs. I couldn't care less about such trivia now.
Embrace the peace... Les Miles = Curley Coker.

Miles earned his pay based on last year (along with the 2 previous successful seasons). He was hired on at around $1.5 million, much less than the near $3 million that Saban made prior to leaving. Bertman's reasoning was that Miles needed to prove he deserved the Saban type pay (which came about when Saban won the NC in 2003). Miles proved it, thus the huge pay raise. No different than what Saban was promised.
If anything, LSU saved millions in coach's salary in 2 years it took Miles to get back to what they would have been paying Saban all along had he stayed at LSU. After next season, you may have an argument about Miles not earning his pay, not now.
Based on your belief, did Saban earn his $3 miillion pay check in 2004?

Jonathan Zenon (born August 2, 1984 in Lafayette, Louisiana) is an American football cornerback for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League. He was signed by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2008. He played college football at Louisiana State.
From Jon Zenon Wiki Page
For now, an objective observer would have to say that Jon Zenon is a better cornerback.
Peterson has potential. But he is not in the league and at this point would be backing up Zenon if both played on the same team.
So your point is what?

Obscure..I guess you meant to say Starting. If you don't know/care about Football..why are you on this board?
Let's talk Larry Coker:
12-0
12-1
11-2
9-3
9-3
7-5 < Canned right here at 80% winning percentage
Let's look at the "Improvement" Randy Shannon:
5-7
7-4
Bill..just not seeing it...are you?

he has never earned his pay, in 2006 he fricked up one of the most talented teams in history. He just wanted to pound the ball away in the middle all game at auburn when we couldnt run on anybody. While our strength on offense was clearly the no. 1 draft pick at qb and a group of nfl recievers but he had to put his hands on the offense everygame and the only time he would let jimbo open it up was 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter. His game and clock management is a joke. He kept this defense bc this is the defense he wanted. The Tenn. comeback was a disgrace and should of saw the problems with the defensive philosophy then and all last year ky, ark. This is the type of defense he likes to run, it is his conservative style. He should take blame for this. He is not a top tier coach, he is a good guy and a good motivator but if you cannot see that the opposing coaches are schooling our staff every week you are blind.

I don't think he was. He said we had three embarassing losses and 4 embarassing games. I assumed he was talking about Florida, Georgia, Troy St., and Ole Miss.

No, you misunderstood. Not my style to run LSU players down. If you feel I'm being unfair to Zenon, I'll go Chevis Jackson or Corey Webster, whoever. I am asking purely on a skill level. Who is most likely to have the most productive college career? (Barring severe injury) Peterson or...you pick one of any of Saban's CBs.

I know and care, very much. My own time, money and support have gone to LSU since 1980 and my family's since the early 60s.
Why am I on the Rant today? I have a bit of time this AM and I sometimes get a kick out of having fun with people like you who take this stuff so seriously. You're absolutely convinced that YOU KNOW FOOTBALL. Your evaluations of players, coaches and game plans are WITHOUT QUESTION.
Check yourself. You're SITTING IN FRONT OF A COMPUTER ARGUING WITH PEOPLE ON A CHAT BOARD!
BTW, I've scanned your posts today and you seem to really hate Saban, so much so that you constantly bring his name up while defending Miles. Hating Saban won't make Miles a better coach, now will it? Let me help you with this one... without Saban and his brief stay at LSU, we're likely not seeing this much emotion attached to a 7-4 LSU team. Pre Saban, 7-4 with two games left (and one being a bowl) would have have been a good year.
"Les Miles = Curley Coker. Embrace the peace." I was sorta joking earlier but you might really need to consider doing something to lighten up a bit. You sure don't seem to be on the verge of letting small things like family, career and life get in the way of all the angry typing your doing on this chat board.

You know what I think it is Bill..I think if you look at Coker's record, you don't fire him. I think it might have been the tunnel fight with LSU at the Peach Bowl, along with the more highly publicized Miami/FIU brawl on the field. I know it's a wild-arse theory..

Dont' know and don't care. Nothing about Coker or UM's decision to fire him have anything to do with LSU and Miles. Just more CHAT on a CHAT board.
Fun's over as I have family, career and life to return to. It's been amusing with you today. And despite our CHAT today, I'm sure you'll agree with me that we both hope for a better outcome this Friday from the Tiger. Take care.

Absolutely agree! I missed your erlier post about my Saban posts. I don't hide my dislike for him well. But I don't take it as seriously as I guess people think.
