You get this on the rant! Just looking for your thoughts. I really don't believe CLM is going anywhere unless he is fired and that's not going to happen anytime soon. He would have to lose out this year and next for our AD to even consider firing Les.

Did miles say what you put in quotes in the subject line?

This thread is mighty confusing.

Dietzel said he'd never leave? Miles asked why anyone would?

Is this real life?

Wait. Is that a direct Miles quote in your subject line?

Right! Not with their AD. I understand he and Les don't see eye to eye. And that an understatement.

you people's obsession with saban is amazing. if anything coaching related gets talked about on this board you automatically think of saban. it truly is a sickness with some of you.

"Dietzel left LSU after a 10-1 record in 1961 to return to West Point as the first civilian coach, but didn't leave without some controversy. He made the statement that he would never leave LSU but Dietzel later said, "I certainly regretted saying that, but at the time, I was young and meant it.""

I have never heard of a coach that did not want to return and coach for the school they played for

You are using a quote Miles made during his job interview in 2004 to make this claim?

What was Les going to say? "Yes I plan to go to Michigan if it opens, but please still give me this job?"

If he wants to go, he'll go. I just think the fact people believe he was ever even considered for the job give him too much credit.

But, it was a great rallying cry for Miles to garner support a week after his team (at the time) had basically choked away its shot at an NC at home to a 4 loss and unranked Arky team.

Do I think Les loves LSU? Yes, but tons of coaches love their current school until they get a better offer.
