Agreed, and as for me the last time my expectations were pretty much unknown was 2011. I had no idea we were going to be that dominate before that Oregon game.

Hoping for the same outcome in 2017...obviously not holding my breathe.

The only player that boosted his draft stock was Riley and Chark.

Chark is a junior and Riley wasn't going to turn pro last year anyway. With that said, it's likely that White, Pocic and Beckwith all will be drafted higher this year than they would have last year with the seasons they had. (Assuming Beckwith is healthy). Dural really didn't have much of a choice in coming back because of his injury last year.

And the talks of lsu having a special team in 2017 have begun....it's like you people don't learn

I felt that way at the end of last year when miles didn't shitcan Cam. I wasn't excited at all about this year other than hoping Fournette would get to NYC. There was no reason to believe the offense would be different and it wasn't. At least now there's hope. It should be tempered with realism, but at this point it's okay to dream.

They want to chase the pink dragon (the idea of beating Bama).

I get the feeling that the players moral has got to be pretty high right after such a roller coaster season. This is a huge transition time for the program and to be a part of it has to be exciting.

Yes, they won't get drafted.

I listen to Chuck Oliver "The King of college football" locally on the ATL radio (680am 93.7fm)

Check out his podcast Southern Sports Today

He always says if a player is not projected to higher than round 3 they need to stay in college.

As much as I agree with the OP about reasons to be optimistic, we really won't know the final numbers of transfers until after spring ball and maybe the start of Fall Camp.

Players can declare till Mid-January and after spring practice and in the early part of summer workouts it's not unusual to lose a guy or two once they realize they've been passed on the depth chart. Plus you have to throw in off the field incidents that could derail someones career.

Keep up the optimism, but before we declare that everyone is staying let's let the off season play out a little more.

Why ...because I just watched a loaded team shite the bed this past season and fail to beat Bama again while scoring zilch and then repeating the nightmare again against UF with the sugar bowl on the line.

Bingo. It's a damn shame Most Lsu fans are okay with 2-3 losses. Meanwhile, bama wins titles

I honestly think that only two of the juniors should come out adams and fournette. the rest of them didn't have very "productive" seasons. probably be wiser to come back and get those stats up so they wont have to be like vadal alexander jalen mills next yr. get those. godchaux, dupre, chark, Gilmore, lacouture, none of them going top 3 rounds this yr, so I think its a little bit of both coaching staff and because of they status. dupre will go based off of what he is told by the board when he gets his draft grade.

Agree 100%, they need to stay, it would help them in next years draft. LSU is on the upswing offensively, Canada has shown he can get offenses up and going very quickly. 2017 could play out very well for LSU's players and with their draft status, if the right pieces fall in to place.

Each player has their own life to lead. Each has his own particular situation.Guys that have real life responsibilities need to go with what is best for their families, etc...$500,000/yr. will solve a lot of problems for most if it's used properly and not squandered. If a guy has offspring, this can weigh heavily on some players...just something to think about...

Still need to recruit lineman for both sides of the ball. We've fell short on this 2 years in a row

I agree, the ones leaving are likely being weeded out by O. I believe he sent a message with his competition practices.
