I actually like this a lot, balances it out and gives some strength to the bottom part of the lineup

I never understood why Gibbs was hitting 4th anyway. And not only is Mitchell your fastest player(by far) with the highest OBP on the team, but he's also more "in the zone" than anybody right now save for maybe D.J. I don't understand why you wouldn't want to get him as many at-bats as possible. Really Paul, you want Gibbs and Mahtook to bat more often than Mitchell? Really?

Im sorry but helenihi is killing us. Although his defense has been pretty solid.

the reasoning that everybody gave for Helenihi was that his defense outweighed the fact that he is 0-4 every night because everyone else in the lineup is hitting so we don't need him. Well now we have basically 6 guys in the lineup that are automatic outs so far this series, do we still need to play him?

I wanna give hanover a chance, but he isn't as strong defensively, but yet a fresh bat may help. He didn't look good in his previous couple of at bats as well. We need our big guys like dean to step it up tonight. Pressure is on.

To say Mitchell had been having trouble with lefties and hitting certain pitches he has exhibited calmness at the plate against great Texas pitching and drilled them, his 1st round status is deserving.

8 hole is an important spot in the lineup. They normally have runners on when they come up. They call it the second cleanup for a reason. So Gibbs at 8 would be bad.

all jokes aside, these guys really need to be patient at the plate and choose a pitch to swing at, they are chasing terrible balls albeit the Ump's strike zone is so screwed up it's putting them in a hole.

Only once. When you said it. I think 8-hole is more important in the National League hitting in front of the pitcher. In college, it's not that special. All 9 are important. I'm not sure I'd bat him as low as 8th, but I would have never hit him 4th. 5th or 6th seems about right. No way Paul changes that now, though.

My opinion:

1. LeMahieu, 2B
2. Mahtook, CF
3. Mitchell, RF
4. Schimpf, LF
5. Dean, DH
6. Ochinko, 1B
7. Gibbs, C
8. Helenihi, 3B
9. Nola, SS

Both Hanover and Landry would be plugged in between Gibbs and Helenihi.

In baseball it always seems the 8 hole always has runners on. Most coaches slip someone there that struggles with offspeed but is one of the better hitters. Because they might see more fastballs in the 8 hole. At this point you can't really hide a hitter but he will have runners on.

i made this same argument last night when i saw the starting line up. i know it's the final series and it can get tricky mixing it up but mitchell can easily put himself in scoring position with a walk/base hit and a steal.

Keep it that way. that is what got us here. Last night PM messed up the team chemestry by putting Landry in and moving Shimpf to 1B. If it's not broken, don't fix it.

Missing Ochinko's strikeouts and popups was the reason we lost last night.
