So, can LSU not attract a hitting 3rd baseman that isn't a liability defensively? He's pretty much an automatic out, so yeah he may save a hit or two, but he is killing the offensive rhythm.

This is a great reason for not making the move. The other is that Mitchell's hitting improved when he was dropped down in the lineup. Psychologically, I'm not sure if I want to move him back up.
If I did, I think I would bat Schimpf at #1, then LaMahieu, then Mitchell, then Dean.
