Not sure if you already said this but what happens with Linehan? Surely he doesn’t stay or even worse, become OC when E retires.

Sorry but this isn't how LSU operates.

Your ignorance is showing. Are you honestly using our FRESHMEN QB’s as an example? They’ve been the best most improved players all year. Don’t know if E or Calloway is coaching them but to call out the fact that whoever is should be fired, ridiculously ignorant

He may not get another year because of Title IX. Woodward has basically isolated O and, they are no longer on speaking terms. O’s antics are getting out of control.

If this is the case then it contradicts what VolTiget is saying. Even if E retires I highly doubt Woodward will let O fire Pelini (buyout) and Linehan and hire a bunch of other coaches.

Woodward would just let O go down with the sinking ship of his current hires.

What does this mean exactly? Is O confined to his office while the other coaches run the day to day affairs?

Wish we could get more specifics on this as well.

Isolation is relative; Woody is only communicating on a must basis, and will not support Os expensive buyouts of coordinators without changes in Os contract (less salary, less buyout, etc.). Woody is disgusted by Os off season public antics, and realizes he’s not a sustainable program builder at LSU.

O can still save his a$$, but he won’t have the full sport of the AD (he’s on the island).

I'm not sure exactly. TigerbaitLawyer doesn't post all that much. but when does, there is lots of truth in what he is saying. He's probably the most proven insider we have point blank period.

O's antics probably include letting his damn nudes leak all over the place for starters.

Thanks, VT13. Anyone who disagrees with this is lying to themselves.

We saw what new ideas brought to us last year on offense. We regressed in that department, regardless of the young personnel.

The defense? Ha. I won't even bring that part up- no need to.

I'm not sure but tigerbaitlawyer is money. Anything he and Unluckytiger say (which isn't much) always comes true.

Well that shows how much the college fan base understands when it comes to football. Throw any other freshman QB’s onto an SEC football field, especially one after a nat champ, after their starting QB who was putting up record numbers (who was also coached by E and Calloway) gets hurt, after having no spring, with over 40 teammates gone (graduated, drafted or opted out) under the pressures of covid and let’s see what they do! Man, these comments just get more and more entertaining. Spoiled is what this is called. Or better yet, entitled and delusional.
This isn’t an argument for or against E and Calloway. This is solely based on my feelings towards the rants on here that can’t be justified. As if there wasn’t enough to bitch about in the world, let’s bitch about how our FRESHMEN QB’s didn’t win a nat champ this year after burrow had ONE great year of college football.

Why not O too.. why keep a coach that you have to constantly prop up to be successful?

You definitely know more than I do, but if this is O’s Hail Mary, then how will Woodward let him do it?

I don’t trust O’s ability to make good hires. Let’s say he makes shitty hires, just like this year. O gets fired. How the hell do we buyout so many contracts? We would still be on the books for everyone this year, plus O’s next hires

I have serious doubts about Woodward. The Title IX stuff is overblown and sensationalized. If Woodward is now wanting to use that as leverage, he should look in the mirror. NO ONE could have predicted the stupidity that has been the covid overreaction, but Woodward placed HIMSELF in an unnecessarily bad position with TWO expensive and complete illogical contracts. Making Orgeron the second highest paid HC was COMPLETELY asinine. A slight bump in salary and year or two extension after 2019? Sure. The 2nd highest paid HC? Absolutely not. NO SCHOOL was going to give O that money. Even after last season. And he wasn't going anywhere. He's smart enough to know he has a good situation at LSU.

The second was the contract to Pelini. O earned the benefit of the doubt to pick his own coordinators without input from above. But Woodward still has the checkbook. And to give "Aranda money" to at guy WITHOUT Aranda demand was fricking crazy! There wasn't a school in America that was going to give Bo even $1.5 million, let alone $2.3 (otherwise he would have left YSU quickly after the Nebraska payments stopped coming in). Following last year a job at LSU was NEVER in greater demand. Yet, Woodward paid a DC like LSU was desperate to find anyone to coach them.

So what happens now even if Woodward thinks he wants to make a change? A nuclear bomb was dropped in the revenue stream this year and is (at this point) continuing in to 2021 with no end in sight. Woodward would have to eat two big buyouts then try to lure in a new coaching staff with what money? Unlike at A&M and even LSU after last season, he won't have a blank check to lure anyone he wants. So if Woodward has shown a propensity to agree to terrible contracts, then who is going to have the oversight over at least a new DC hire, and possible HC hire?

The most reasonable thing for LSU to do going forward is to swallow a DC change, but have STRONG oversight over Orgeron with the hire. They CANNOT just give him the checkbook at let him go to the lot to pick out any DC he wants. And O would have no leverage to fight back on that. He has blown almost all of the 2019 goodwill, and no school is going to come try to "steal" him away. Only Ed and a few dreamers on here think he has tremendous demand outside of LSU. Ideally you wouldn't want to micromanage your HC. But I think Ed is a different situation. He's very good at filling a role if you can keep him within those bounds. But once you give him too much rope then train can derail quickly.

How has he proven that again?

Well he gave Jimbo the absolutely ridiculous $75m guaranteed contract. He nearly doubled O's salary this year when he wasn't going anywhere and the main selling point of him as a head coach was to take less pay to have the resources to throw the bank at quality assistants. Oh, speaking of quality assistants, he paid Bo Pelini six times his annual salary to come from Youngstown when no one else was competing for him.

Do people seriously think this? If O got fired today, I don’t see him getting a P5 coaching job ever again
