Thank you legalbengal. I have been screaming this last couple of days. The people that see only the wrong things in Miles need to get of the bandwagon. They are probably the same people who leave early from games. I sat in Tiger Stadium through that miserable 2-9 season under Hallman. I have perspective that the bozo negatigers don't have. We have a very good coach in Miles and I wouldn't trade him for anyone!!!!!!!!

Congratulations on looking up some stats. Yes, Les Miles has had success here. But there's nothing wrong with criticizing some things people feel he isn't doing well right now. This isn't a black and white issue, you know. You can like Les Miles and want him around while criticizing some things at the same time.

LSUJuice, it is the overwhealming critism that is going on right now that has taken me aback. My God, he won the National Championship last year! We have a freshman qb who was thrown in the lions den due to Perriloux's bad behavior. Are people not able to step back and put things into perspective anymore? The answer is NO!

I think a lot of people are able to put it in perspective. But he is a coach that makes a ton of money, and he deserves some criticism for the way things have gone this year.... I posted it in another thread, but I think this offseason is when we will really find out a lot about our coach. He has a quarterback situation to deal with, and defense (and coordinator) issue to fix, and internal team issues to fix. This will be the most "adversity" Miles has had to face as coach here, and we will see what he does to keep this program on track. And note that I said, "keep on track" and not "get back on track."
This season still has the potential to be a successful season, and win-loss wise, is right where a lot of us thought we'd be. But it's not only about record when looking to the future - it's what's behind those losses (and wins) that worries people and begs criticism.

LSUJuice, I agree with you about changes that he makes or does not make at the end of the season will tell us a lot. Until this year, he has done a great job with the coaching staff. I hope promoting his loyal assistants to def coord was just an experiment and he goes and gets an experienced coordinator. His assistants can get their experience under the guidance of someone else or go to a smaller program.

I've been watching LSU football for 40 years and have sat through alot of miserable (and great) games and have earned the right to be critical. Don't tell me I can't criticize LSU when I have paid them tens of thousands of dollars in tuition, football tickets, concessions, and gear.
Miles is great most of the time but if he doesn't fix this shite in the offseason he's gonna be on the hotseat, and yes, alumni like me do have the right to say this.
We also have the right to cheer our asses off for him if he fixes it and we start looking like a BCS National Champion from '07 and '03 again. That clusterfrick of an abortion masquerading as a football game I saw on the field last Saturday night was disgusting.

Miles will show you what he is all about he just needs time.

Yeah, this obviously isn't a "one way or the other" situation. I can be critical while still being a fan. I grew up in the 90s, and was at LSU while this program got back to greatness. I don't expect to win a NC every year, and it's neither fair nor reasonable to expect that. I do, however, think that people should be accountable for some things that happen - things that ARE in their control. But again, we must keep this in perspective. We're in a down year and going to the freaking Cotton Bowl (assuming we don't drop these next two). How great it is.
