I think Charlie Mac turned down a bowl once. Think it was some sort of team vote.

This is playground bs. I'm going to pick up my ball and go home. Come on.

For some people who don't have the luxury of going to every game, it's a chance to see them play. For the team, it's a chance to redeem itself and put together a solid outing to build on for next year. Are LSU fans that spoiled?

Yeah because we have done a terrible job in our bowl games under Miles, all of the sudden he doesn't know what to do in bowl practices. Idiot.

That would not be good. It give extra practice to younger players and helps with recruiting when players visit. That would be a big mistake. Plus you give up $$$. Makes no sense. Like cutting your nose off to spite your face.

So it's good for this team to practice more under current coaching staff? Idiot!

Of course LSU won't consider turning down a bowl, but I understand the emotion. This team needs to work on lots of stuff before spring, and I am praying that the DC situation is dealt with prior to the bowl game.

I am concerned that another loss to a lousy team will further erode the image of the program and cost us recruits.

So there is no need to make any changes before the bowl?

That's a terrible idea on every level. First of all why would recruits want to come to a school who turns down a bowl bid. And the players need the practice, regardless of what coaching staff it's under. Plus there is still a part of our fanbase that is hardcore and plan vacations for what bowl game we are going to, so if you turn down a bowl you piss those people off. There is not one positive for turning down a bowl game.

Ideally, you should try to make the coaching changes before the bowl. Honestly, I think a lot depends on the outcome of some games today. If Les is serious about someone like Tenuta, wait until ND gets dismantled by USC and heads start rolling in South Bend.

Thanks Valpeaux! That is the point i am trying to make. Make the changes now and let the bowl start the next season.

as much as they don't deserve it, they need the practice time for next year..... they need to hire a well known defensive coordinator to save recruiting and teach them how to tackle.

your right, lets go out on a bad note losing to arkansas instead of working hard for an extra month to go out there and prove the talent that this team has and win a bowl game and bring SOME kind of trophy home.

good call.

I would refuse any invitation - we don't deserve to play in a mediocre bowl with all the talent. It is embarrassing - just stay home & watch some of the well-coached teams play.
