Yeah, because rushing TD's show a lot when certain Qb's are taken out of the game and others put in on the 2 yard line.

I'll go with passing since we're talking Qb not Rb.

I didn't say show RB rushing TDs, I said include his rushing TDs. Include the rushing part of JJ's game. It's unfair to assess both QBs as a whole if you don't include JJ's legs.

Which is why JJ would make a good Cody Burns.

Against the same teams as previous JJ had 4 rushing TD's in 3 years. He still has less total TD's then JL and this INCLUDES his rushing TD's against Florida this past year which are chicken shite to count.

Now include rushing yards and TDs.

In any case, JJ's legs are what put him a half step above Lee imo. Lee's the better natural passer but JJ's ability to take a hit and his legs put him just above JL.

I'm ready

I hope Mett becomes an AA, but I will not be ready till Mett faces a D the likes of a Bama or a Aub or a Flor or Arkansas or Oregon and LSU walks off the field a winner like we have done 20 times in the past 2 seasons while playing the best college football has to offer.

Untill that time, I'll let the two guys who have paid their dues by QB'ing LSU to those 20 wins and a Top 8 NR try to show that for 2011 they are ready to carry the load at QB.

So you agree that you prefer to reward seniority over the possibility of superiority.

I don't think anyone believes that Mettenberger will be a worse passer than the two we have.

It appears the poster I was responding to prefers seniority.

you have to admit though.....experience is big part. Especially in the SEC

If you don't support your Seniors, expect to have mainly JUCO & 2nd & 3rd tier players.

Right, so seniors should start, regardless. Gotcha.

I think the two QB's we have will require more instruction than one year can fix. The experience they have may be a negative.

I think we are talking seniority though, not experience.

Definitely. Mett's unproven, and he -may- not be a good leader. JJ's not the best either but if he's inexperienced AND not a good leader, why put him in over the experience?

Yeah, I am pretty sure the posters on this board are well qualified to determine this.

We know JJ will be a lock for the starting QB this year and it's in our best interest that he have some kind of super hero improvement this year. I highly suspect that LSU will need more than one QB this year before the season is over though.

JJ has every chance to prove himself this year and it's on him, not the apologists.

Wouldnt you get the best players if they knew you play the best players. Sure if two players are equal play the senior but if you have a senior who has proven he cant perfrom (JJ for example) why play him over a soph who most agree has much more potential and has not been a huge fail on the field?

So you want to play a qb that has not played a down in the sec over a senior who won 10 sec games last year? Wow. And where do you coach?

But, this soph has not been a hugh fail on the field...........wait.....has he ever been on the field for LSU or played on the field in the SEC???????????

yea....right.....

JJ will start and finish the year at LSU as the starter....get over it.......
