Won 10 games last year......?

You really gonna argue that JJ won 10 games last year? Not that LSU won 11 games in spite of their starting qb JJ not contributing in 8 of those 11 wins?

Wouldnt the true statement be that the defense, special teams and running game won 11 games last year and in 8 of those they won in spite of the starting qb??????

JJ will start and finish the year at LSU as the starter

I agree he will start. Finish ? Not so sure.

I do, however, think it will be interesting to see how he responds to having a very capable backup that can very easily come into a game and not relinquish the job after a series or two.

JJ is going to find out a lot about himself this season, as will all the fans. I hope it affects him positively but I just can't say that I'm confident it will.

I think the disconnect on all these threads is that ... You can't root against JJ and still root for LSU. JJ is an LSU athlete, if you're an LSU fan you have to support him until it's the next guy's turn.

I think most here would happily eat crow if JJ somehow became a competent qb. I think the frustration of watching him make the same mistakes over and over coupled with him constantly being quoted as to how well he is playing despite the fact we can see he was terrible in 9 out of 13 games makes a good bit of fans want the next guys turn to be now!

I hear ya but it's not up to us. Les has to make that call and that's a whole other 349 threads of discussion.

Agreed and I think for some reason Les is the only one making that call!

ouldnt you get the best players if they knew you play the best players. Sure if two players are equal play the senior but if you have a senior who has proven he cant perfrom (JJ for example) why play him over a soph who most agree has much more potential and has not been a huge fail on the field?

Juco Zach has never faced an SEC Defense in a game.

You and the BBQ boys ready to tho' another QB onto the BBQ pit...again.

Without JJ, you lose the Bama game. Lee was 4-7 passing, while JJ went 10-13.

We can play that game all nite. Without Lee they lose the Tenn, Fla and maybe Bama as well. Remember Lee threw the long completion to Randle on third and long to get LSU out of the hole.

I think he could handle it. He doesn't have to be great, just better than the guy ahead of him.

No, you really can't. You'll hate Mett too & whoever plays QB at LSU.

Yeah, I am pretty sure the posters on this board are well qualified to determine this.

I'm not trying to say I am in any way qualified to determine that. It's up to Les Miles and Co. I trust their judgement and I think that if JJ starts it will be because he's the best option at the time. I think Mett has 100x the potential of JJ, but inexperience in the SEC goes a long way to keeping you from starting if there are much more experienced people in front of you. I believe if Mett is that much undeniably better as a leader, passer, and QB, he'll be starting.

Is Gonzales in the process of revolutionizing our passing game?

It is a little troublesome. Big Les has Gonzo & Krags locked up in an electrified room, Leach style. Won't let them out 'til they fix it.

As long as they fix it that's all that matters.

Crowton was a sacrificial lamb. Miles didn't have the faith to give Gonzo the reigns.

Naw..he was pretty pretty open about Gary. Gonzo's a good coach, but had too many WRs dropping passes.

So you agree that you prefer to reward seniority over the possibility of superiority.

I'll let the LSU coaching staff do the rewarding and at this time the "possibility of superiority" is in 3rd place.
