The Sugar has been stuck with two mid-majors that were AQ (Utah, Hawaii) and the Big East Champion, Cincinnati. The Sugar wants two big time programs this year, and with the 1st pick, they will get it.

I agree with the 1st pick deciding no non-AQ, but If that wasn't the situation we could easily have TCU/Boise

This I agree with, Though its kinda funny that LSU fans have to depend on their ARCH RIVAL and SUPER hated former coach to help them get into the BCS

As I have told others, I am pulling for Auburn to lose, not for Alabama to win. There is a difference.

. A one -loss LSU team will NOT go to the Cotton.

well, that depends, if AU beats bama, but loses to USCe, AU might still be in the top 4 which would guarentee them a BCS bowl (Orange). We would probably go to the Cap 1, but since we were there last year I could see them dicking us and has the Outback ever taken anyone but an SEC E or Alabama team?

If Stanford loses their last game then LSU could go to the Rose Bowl against a Big 10 team

The Rose has agreed to take a non AQ that is guarented a spot if they lose at team. They get out of that if a Non AQ makes the title game. Unless Stanford falls out of the top 14 and is not eligible, they will take Stanford if they don't have to take a non AQ.

VaTech has clinched one division and it's between FSU and NCst for the other. Maryland is out, having lost to FSU last weekend. If the Terps beat NCSt this week, FSU goes to the ACC championship. If NCSt wins, they go. My guess would be that VPI would beat either one.

Well I suppose that settles that. But NCst? I know they're having an OK season but fuuuuudge.

Hopefully it doesn't come to that.

Our best shot at the BCS is for AU to win out and go to the BCS CG while we beat Arky.

The Capital One is NOT going to dick us. 11-1 LSU would be NO WORSE than the Capital One.

The Sugar Bowl will fill one or two spots depending on Auburn's finish. They are the first team to pick this year after the bowls replace their NC teams. That means, at worst, the Sugar would have the 2nd and 3rd picks after the Rose. They are not taking TCU/Boise. I promise you. In fact, I would bet that only TCU or Boise will make a BCS Bowl. The other team will be in the Humanitarian Bowl or the Holiday Bowl.

I guess the angles would be that VaTech would be seeking revenge for the 2007 beatdown and that Taylor would be looking to close his career with a win over the team against whom he got one of his first significant chunks of playing time.

A game against FSU would feature Les versus Jimbeaux.

The story against NCSt might be Chavis versus Mike Archer.

Worst case is AU beating Bama then losing to SC. LSU is out then.

Best case is the Aubbies losing on Friday and then to South Carolina with LSU beating the pigs on Saturday. Of course, I will be in a straight jacket if the Aubbies lose the next two because I would not be able to stop laughing.

really the best case would for them to go undefeated but somehow declared ineligible for the a bowl. 3 unbeaten seasons and zero NC

I think we might be sitting next to each other with straight jackets on if that happens.

Wouldn't we play the ACC champ? That could be Maryland

Maryland's eliminated from winning their division.

Either Florida State or NC State will play Virginia Tech for ACC title.

No, the ACC winner is locked to the Orange.
