i love this:

quote:

the Trojans will have to replace most of their defense -- their entire linebacker corps and standout defensive ends Clay Matthews and Kyle Moore -- and find quarterback Mark Sanchez's successor.

umm...yeah, usc at #6.

god the pac-10 sucks.

and what does this mean?

quote:

LSU's 2009 schedule includes potential road traps at Georgia, Alabama and Ole Miss.

is there a chance those games will be played in baton rouge?

Nope. They'll be solid.

They played 15 Frosh last year. They had another great recruiting class. They catch LSU at home. Don't have to play the two other strongest SEC teams (UF, UGa) during the regular season. If we had their schedule and they had ours, the rankings would be reversed.

If that's your stance shouldn't Ole Miss be ahead of Bama? They return 8 on defense and they actually have their starting quarterback returning.

Crap I was hoping Bama would be #1. I just love watching them drop in the rankings when they lose.

ESPN is a bunch of idiots for the most part. Every thing they do is fluff and bullcrap. Bama might be pretty good next season but #4 is very very doubtful if not impossible.

The are so stupid that they don't even know that Bama was overrated due to over half of their wins being handed to them. I mean how many teams did they actually really beat.

Tulane freaking out played them, LSU basically sucked and even though Lee had one of his worse games that game we still almost won. OT!!! Georgia spotted them 31 in the first half and almost came back and won! etc etc. Bama was way overrated last seaon and it showed when they got beat by Utah.

I see at least 5 teams in the top ten that will not live up to their preseason ranking.

VT, LSU, and OLE MISS.

I remember this same statement before last years season started. We would lose 3-5 games at the hands of Clemson, UGA, UT, LSU, and Auburn. But since you guys know it all, I will just go ahead and sell my tickets to those 3 games this year.

If I'd told yov last year that Alabama would spend half the year ranked #1, would that have been fvcking ricvlovs?

+1.

Bama is dangerous. Last year's freshman class will win at least one SEC title.

I said about this time last year that Alabama would lose two games, and I was right.

Alabama will lose two games next season, too. No more, no less.

Buckeyes or 'pokes? Both rankings caught my eye. I'm skeptical of both.

Yes. If you'd said George Mason was going to the Final Four back at the start of the '05-'06 season, that would have been ridiculous. If you'd have said with :02 seconds on the clock in the '02 Kentucky game that we were going to win, that would have been ridiculous, too. That's why we have terms like "fluke", "luck", "upset" and "miracle" in sports. Because ridiculous things happen.

We actually return more starters than LSU, FWIW. We return 7 starters on D, and 4 on O. I believe LSU only returns 10 (that could be wrong, though, and if so, correct me). Also, Pryor led the conference in passing efficiency last year. I heard he had a partially separated shoulder against UT, which affected his throwing motion.
