While Carter shouldn't have been in the game for that route, players should also be held accountable. Catch the damn ball when it's thrown to you. I love Carter to death but he doesn't get a pass just because he's a TE that can't catch - learn how to catch. We are where we are because of the finger pointing.

Whoever was doing the TE subs needs to be smacked.

He also needs to tell Faulk his little RB by committee thing and blind loyalty to Curry is over with.

All subs in general have been fricking stupid. Find 4 receivers and roll with them. Find your hot hand running back and run him.

And NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES have Tory Carter running a pass route when Arik Gilbert is available.

Did we even have a timeout to spare? I don’t remember our timeout situation at that poin

I think we had one. I'm not positive. Point still stands that IMO Orgeron was covering for an assistant's mistake. Hell, he may not have even realized that Carter shouldn't have been in on that play at the time.

He's not a TE. He's a blocking FB playing out of position.

He’s not a fricking tight end. That’s the point. He’s a full back who is moonlighting as a blocking tight end. He doesn’t possess the skill set required for that route.

Now you can be a 1950s era football dumbass with the “Hurrdurr bUT iT HtI dA HAndZ” if you want to but you look fricking stupid.

I don’t think he did which makes it his fault. That’s his job.

Oh I’m 100% sure you’re right. But that makes it no less Ed’s fault and I respect him for owning up to it.

What happened to Marshall?

In all seriousness, I’m shocked that every single player on our team isn’t hurt. The NCAA was so terrified of COVID that they had to shut down all team activities for basically the entire offseason, but it’s completely fine to let a bunch of kids who weigh 230 pounds and can run 20 miles an hour go out and knock the shite out of each other for 60 minutes straight- all while being relatively out of shape and unconditioned, expecially for a full SEC slate. Just a gross mismanagement of a season in favor of virtue signaling.

Anyone who’s ever played football or done a full contact sport like MMA or BJJ or Wrestling knows that you can’t just go out cold turkey on no training and expect to go full speed against big dudes and not get at least mildly hurt. I promise every single player on our team has, at a minimum, screwed up fingers, neck, soft tissue, and wrists/ankles.

Ok, so we should act like a college football player gets a pass for being unable to catch a football because he's playing out of position. I agree it wasn't an easy catch, but I'm just done with the finger pointing. Every should share the blame and should be held accountable.

I don't understand the rotations either.. like we shouldn't have mass subs every other drive. we should definitely rotate guys one by one like every other team stop with the Platoon swaps it's messing up the rhythm.

So you mean that you want them to do something different than last year?

I knownits a crazy idea, but hey he freely admits Burrow could do it but Myles can't. So why not use those 3 weeks of goaline to practice some actually power running formations

A football? Sure. That football? Nope and neither could you.

Tory Carter is a glorified offensive lineman. To expect him to haul in a fly route with two people in his face is full out fricking stupid.

And it's not as if Brennan noodle armed it into the endzone either.

So, he went from a blocking FB to a glorified offensive lineman now. Got it. Should he have been in the game for that route? No. Was it an easy catch? No. Is it the coaches' fault that he didn't catch that ball? No. Do you get it now? It doesn't always have to be somebody else's fault. It can be that he shouldn't have been in the game and it was a tough catch, but maybe he needs to work a bit more on catching a football since he does play football and a position that may require him to catch a football.
