So, he went from a blocking FB to a glorified offensive lineman now. Got it

Is there a difference? What do you think a blocking fullback does exactly?

Fan called in and compared #LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pelini to Lou Tepper, who held the same position in the late 1990s.

What did O have to say about that? I think statistically, Tepper had a better Defense than Pelini.

And this right here is the problem with having Ensminger as OC. You don’t run plays because they worked last year. Every team is a new team, and you need to figure out what your team does best and play to their strengths. We are just running shite because it worked last year. That’s what happens when you don’t have an innovative mind at OC. He is just going to run what he knows from last year without the ability to evolve and adapt.

He didn't comment on it directly but said he supports Pelini but they need to get better.

Why is Tory Carter the backup TE?

I don’t think people (most of us) are dumping on Carter, but we asked him to do something that’s really outside of his skill set on that play. We have other guys that can do that, but can’t blast a LB on a read option like Carte can. Just put guys in a position to make positive plays, and not beyond their skill set.

He said that with Joe he would of just snuck it in. That means the goal line plays WERE what works this year. Just because they didn't work on Saturday doesn't mean that they didn't work in practice.

I imagine everything our offense runs in practice works.

When Gilbert was dinged up, Carter came in and ran the same position, formations and plays. We had carter lined up on the outside as a WR. we didn’t motion him out there, he lined up out there, like Gilbert would

So strange

what's going on with Terrace, I sure hope he isn't considering shutting it down

Don’t know why the down vote. That’s exactly what I think. Hope I’m wrong but right after we loss I said it woundnt be surprising to see most /all draft eligible players shut it down. They already saw their best friends do it. Terrace is a guaranteed 1st rd pick.

He didn't say they ran the only play that worked last year in that exact down and distance near the goal line.

We're running the same offense, so yeah, there's gonna be a shite ton of plays that worked last year and may not this year in certain situations. It's just O being O with his comments sounding so literal but it's usually general.

If he has a season anywhere comparable to what Chase had last year, his stock would sky rocket. He stands to make a lot more money if he finishes the season.

Who else should it be? Pettigrew peaced our and that left only Gilbert, the other true Fresh, and Stoltz. Who I actually thought may have been a bigger factor. There is so much hatred towards doing anything but taking snaps out of the shotgun with 1 or 0 backs next to Brennan. But there needs to be some plays with Myles under center and Carter at fullback.

A TE should be the backup TE

with no real receiving TE threat and a non-running QB you are playing 9 on 11 on offense

Of course that's his job, but that's not what I said. I said I wasn't buying that it was his fault for Carter being in the game. Ensminger should have noticed and told Coach O to call a timeout.

Yeah, calling a TO then coming back in with a different TE wouldn't have raised any eyebrows on the other team.

We're allowed to call a different play after a timeout.

So if a play doesn't work once, we scrap it? Thats a really stupid reason to not run a sneak from the half yard line.

Then an audible within the “look at me” format would’ve been more appropriate.

The offensive coaches not only put Tory Carter out there in that situation but had Myles look at them and they said “no that’s perfectly ok. This will work”. Just a clustfrick all the way around.

Everyone from Ed Orgeron to the lowliest towel boy needs to be slapped around for giving that ok.
