Imo, it looks like Barksdale is having trouble with his footwork on pass blocking.

But to the O-line's credit on the pass blocking, Jefferson does not have a great feel for the pocket yet, when to step up, where the pressure is coming from, etc. It will come though. The great thing about Jefferson is that no matter what happens he stays pretty calm. He'll throw it away when he needs to, and he's got the ability to tuck it and gain positive yards.

But can you blame Miles for assuming this was the best Oline he has ever had when practicing against our Dline.

in 06 we had two new starters and struggled early, see Auburn game. You can't expect great performances when your center and left guard have played in 2 games, especially if the center is responsible for making the blocking calls. Not giving them a pass, but let's give them a chance to gel.

I agree, the defense is going to have to have the rest. Can't afford going 3 straight possessions and out.

it's only his 4th start, and he just turned 19.

I think he'll get better, and so do the coaches.

they are being OUT PLAYED by washington and vandy defensive lines... I hope they get tougher really really soon.

With a young QB, great O-line play is a must. I see veterans underachieving, which doesn't help the young guys. We may be seeing how important a battle-tested center is to the overall line play. Breaking in a new center takes time for O-line continuity. This line should get better as the season progresses and T-Bob improves.

I definitely agree with this but how do you propose that 5 guys get better at blocking 8-10 guys?

It's called a SCREEN. See every 5th play of every NFL game today.

K. Williams has looked better, but primarily on sweeps. He can cut better than Scott and thus we will use him more if the line does not get better.

nah, probably not
