Do they serve the hot dogs straight out of the refrigerator? How hard is it to heat up and keep them warm?

How is all of this ineptitude even possible? It's not that hard, and it was the last game of the year so they should have figured it out. Hell when we worked the games in high school, it was easy, no lines, we never ran out of anything. Oh wait, that was 1994 and no one came to the games.

Like I said, if you want change, shoot a quick email to athletics@lsu.edu

Doesn't take long.

It was then and there that, based on what I've read on the Rant this season, the most surprising thing occurred. As previously noted, 80% or more of the game's attendees were in the shelter of the concourses. But the instant I arrived at the concession window, which was only about 2.5 seconds after discovering it with my sense of sight, someone asked me what I wanted. Without ample time to examine the menu, as I didn't want to be seen as one who only thinks of himself, I quickly recalled seeing others carrying small boxes, so I confidently requested a fresh individual pizza and a drink in a souvenir cup, upon which the guy asked me what I wanted in it. I also observed another concession worker deliver 3 hot dogs to another patron. Recalling some passionate threads on the Rant, I thought to myself, it was halftime, and seemingly everything on the menu was still plentiful. I further mused, Tennessee is in the Top 15 of the most obese states list, and the visitors are in the Top 5, throw in the weather, and there's no reason for there to be a lackluster night of consumption. This all came to me pretty quickly, as I had only spent about 45 seconds in the concession procurement space. The pizza, which was made by the friend and colleague of last night's game attendee and UT legend Peyton Manning, was OK since I made the wise decision to enjoy it in the shelter of the concourse. Otherwise, the fully-cooked, saucer-shaped pepperoni would have ceased to be filled with grease and replaced with water.

Above the photo that someone posted from Tiger Stadium last night is an excerpt from my contribution to The Rant the day after my trip to the UT game. It was quite tongue in cheek but accurate. I can recall that the concession stand at UT was about half the size as what is shown in the photo above. However, I am positive there were at least 5 people (maybe 6) working in it. I especially remember watching one of the workers because she was super hot (probably 35 or so). She wasn't waiting on customers but doing prep work and keeping things in stock. There was a lot of communication between the people working the concession stand. There's no way Aramark doesn't understand this stuff. In their financial model, they're just not gonna do it.

Larry Wallace is the director of Tiger Concessions. It's very hard to find his email address now. LSU has taken it down. Even his LinkedIn account doesn't have it now.

He is a Bama Alum as well

No sprite at the concession stand I was by. And that was before the game even started. And the line was ridiculous as well

Inexcusable.

While you’re at it, ask them about Aramark hiring work release and felons to serve LSU fan’s kids.

Verne Ausberry personally called me back after my email. Very understanding. They want people to email their complaints. Sounds like they are very unhappy with what they are getting and want actual complaints to bring forward.

Within a few hours of sending it....on a Sunday...very impressed. I’m just happy the administration is aware and is concerned as well.

This ‘problem’ is easily addressed. Simply do not purchase anything from the concessions...ever. It’ll change before you can say Bob’s your uncle.

You know how. But of course we can’t really talk about it.

Compass used to hold the contract until this year. They were MUCH better than This garbage.

Let’s see, horrible traffic, lousy small seats (for the most part), tragic music piped in, shitty concessions and piss poor service, disgusting bathrooms.

Yet everyone is pissed when people leave early or don’t go at all? Why even go, let alone stay?

This has been said a dozen times and I will reply the same way every time. If you want to be mad at somebody, be mad at LSU. Aramark behaves exactly how they will be allowed to behave. LSU is responsible for checking in to make sure Aramark is doing their jobs and if they fall short to reprimand or micromanage until it gets right.

Until somebody at LSU steps up and holds Aramark accountable for their lack of execution and running out of food, nothing will change. If you have a beef, take it up with LSU cuz Aramark just doesn't give a s***, because they don't have to

This is nothing new for the Aramark business model. I worked for Exxon in Africa and Aramark won the bid for our catering contract. After only being on the job for a short time, they stated they were losing $2M per year and demanded to renegotiate and threatened to stop providing services. Only because we had several other contracts worldwide with them we were able to force them to stay on until we could transition to another caterer. Run, don't walk, away from any deal with Aramark.
