You realize we gave up 600 yards to bama?

It would be really funny if they didn’t though....

I didn’t say they wouldn’t. It’s at least a conversation.
We beat up on Georgia. If it’s my call I have Ohio State over LSU. But it’s worth discussing if two “okay losses” are comparable to one really bad one.
So not only are you arguing a dump point but you arguing with yourself over that dump point.

Who you lose to does matter when you are trying to break some sort of tiebreaker. With them blowing out Michigan, we each have a similar signature win but they have one loss and we have two. It makes sense for them to be ahead of us on Tuesday night because 2>1. Simple as that.

OSU would beat LSU by three tds......

Ohio state wins the big 10 they jump LSU and they should jump LSU
I don't agree that they "should" jump LSU, but I agree that they will. The Big Ten is not good at all, and I don't believe winning that conference should automatically place Ohio State ahead of anyone currently ahead of them. That's like saying Northwestern should jump us if they win the Big Ten. But, it's been my assumption all along that Ohio State and Michigan would both have to lose.
Given OSU's performances against some pretty weak teams this year, it is certainly possible they lose to Northwestern. Hopefully today was just a fluky performance by them.

Let's say you're on the committee, and you knew you'd end up with a rematch against one of Bama's opponents. Which of these would you favor least based on the stat line?
Not even close in my opinion.

Wanting LSU to end up in a solid bowl game where it can be competitive instead of being embarrassed (again) is rooting for LSU.

I agree... But LSU is not going to make the playoff anyway...........

OSU will definitely jump us.....No shot Michigan stays ahead of LSU if we beat A&M
Michigan will have only 1 win against a top 25 team

I would hope that the committee has enough integrity not to make their ranking based on what they WANT to see. I don't see anybody else having done what we did to Georgia this year.
You just have to go by best resume. The fact that we're even having a discussion about what the committee might prefer to see, is the best argument for the old BCS.
As much as people complained about it, I always thought it was the best possible way to get an unbiased ranking. It wasn't perfect. It can't be, when you have ANY kind of selection process, as opposed to taking the best records, like they do in the pros. With 120 division 1 teams, or however many, you can't just take the best records. These playoffs were never going to solve anything.

If that is the mentality you have, then why have goals, at all? What if the 1980 U.S. hockey team felt the same way you did about rematches against a team that had previously blown them out?
Hoping for a lesser destination, so as not to lose, is accepting defeat before you've even played.

Anyone who prefers a sugar bowl to the playoffs is a fricking pussy. And hates LSU.

Why is this even up for debate?
Because there are a lot of stupid people who don’t understand how the CFP committee makes its decisions, or its the narrative from plants to keep up appearances of a relevant LSU program, when they aren’t relevant at all.
Also, “he talk like us”.
And Citrus Bowl FTW!

I don't know if they hate LSU, but it is a defeatist mentality, without a doubt.
