But no explanation forthcoming. Must be a suspension.

Because people over the age of 50 have been brainwashed to believe that it’s a gateway drug, which it is not. Hell, Percocet caught traction when one physician did a study (hired by the creator of Percocet I might add) noting that the medication did not pose a long term threat to dependency, tolerance and addiction. Now look where we are...the government has had to step in due to the opioid epidemic.

Because he is stuck right now. The problem was having the policy in place. Once you violate a policy that is in place, you have to abide by the punishment that you set up or it is a violation.
Does he have the sole power to change those policies or does the BOS or someone else have to Approve his recommendation?

Once LSU puts a policy in place, they must follow said policy. If they don't, it's an NCAA violation.

IF LSU is doing all of this to him over weed...the hypocrisy is astounding. The time is fast approaching that we will look back on these policies as morally and medically wrong. Punishing football players for medicating their mind and body. Pitiful.
bUT tHe RuLEs!
Don't use cannabis to treat pain or anxiety kids, thats illegal and against the rules. Have a Dr prescribe you lortab or xanax, thats the healthy and right thing to do.

Let's be honest here man. I doubt many college kids are smoking weed to heal their mind and body.

Potentially Rosenthal too, but we are trying to get MD back for semi’s.

He needs to stay with the team and be part of it. Have his Sr game and follow with the NFL day

He's a senior. Has he gotten in trouble for this in the past or did he all of sudden begin using cannabis. I don't care what the motivation is, cannabis is medication. Ask the LSU ag center.

The NFL only tests for weed once a year, why? Because over half of the NFL smokes or ingests THC due to the pain killing, anti inflammatory, sleep aiding, and hunger inducing properties. They would have no players left. They only test to avoid the backlash that would happen if they took drug testing off of the table completely.

It kind of is, but mostly because you can only get it from criminals.

Thank you. I was going to post this as well, not saying they should abuse it, but I would much rather players use this than be hooked on pain pills.
Bo and his minions need to get the hell out of town with this crap, let the players use a plant if they wish as long as it does not become an issue.

Can they not count the game Divinity sat out for injury?

Y'all seem to forget that with the exception of medical dope, the weed is still illegal in the state of LA.
Last I check... LSU was located in... the state of LA.
So if Divinity didn't have a medical prescription for the drops, to deal with an allowed issue, then I really don't see how anyone is fighting this.
It would be difficult for a state university to turn a blind eye to one of the players violating state law.
To me, this isn't compliance being overly aggressive or anything.
Maybe instead of yelling at compliance, you should be yelling at our North LA bible belt politicians for constantly blocking legalization attempts.

Drinking alcohol under 21 is illegal too. You want all of our players tested for that every Sunday morning too?
