The losing to Florida and then stomping a top 10 UGA squad is quite frankly as inconsistent as it gets.

So you would rather us beat a team like Florida that we were favored against then lose a close one to Georgia because we were the underdog?

191 actually.

It’s almost like it’s easier to run when a team is shutting their opponent out deep into the the 3rd quarter.

Maybe having an offense that is scoring points, sustaining drives, not turning the ball over, and possessing the ball for more than 25 minutes would be helpful in stopping an offense that can’t do anything but try to run the clock out from the opening snap

The fact that you try and excuse the fact that a Troy rb ran all over our defense, says everything that needs to be said about you.

In 2017, Les would have defeated Troy but lost to Auburn.

In 2018, Les would have defeated UF but lost to UGA.

It’s a wash, really.

Excuse it?

I’m not doing anything of the sort. The defense was bad that day. Obviously. But the offense was atrocious and made their job harder.

Are you excusing that fact?

What was your point with the initial post about the Troy RB btw? Come out and say what you want to say.

As long as O meddles in play calling we will continue to get smoked by Bama and lose games we shouldn’t.

Call the halfback pass on that 3rd down at the end of regulation or that OT drive where we ran it 3 times and then tied it with a FG we would have won that game.

Well something was wrong that day, when an aranda led defense couldn't stop a Troy running back, who gained over 200 yards rushing. Reminded me of the defensive performance in the miss state game.

troy held the offense scoreless in the 1st half. but yeah blame the defense. anyone besides O,right?

This. Top ten finish in final poll, double digit wins and a bowl victory. A coach who is changing things up, a returning QB with moxie, young receivers that flashed.

I think we’re farther along, ahead of schedule, than most including myself would have predicted.

This is kind of funny when you think about it. I bet our opponents lose some games to LSU that “they shouldn’t”. How about Georgia last year? If Texas, Auburn or A&M lose to us this year their fans will surely say they should not have.

But at least we see O is trying to break through, whereas miles had gone stagnant and refused to change.

This is the truth! Orgeron was a bad hire, and his fumbling around for three years (and counting) to figure out what offense to run is proof of that. However, the guy is working his butt off and doing his utmost to put LSU on top. I’m beginning to think he just might do it.

This statement is WAY over played IMO in general, but not with that clown. That's the only agenda.

Ree, Ben, and the others have spoken to this numerous times. We were without 5-6 defensive linemen that game. We were practically playing walkons.

Now, can you explain why we didn’t score against Troy until the 4th quarter?

I was a team loss from the head coach all the way down to the team managers and grad assistants. It was a team failure. We weren't ready to play and IMO that kind of loss won't happen to a Oregon team again at LSU.

I agree. I think the early part of that year Ed was in “I’m the head coach” mode and was hellbent on doing it his way. I think that game taught him to get out the way of certain things and let the experts do their jobs.

He’s got his strengths, but offensive game planning isn’t one of them. I’m glad he’s learned from that game

I think the press conference before the Rice game was even more telling when he addressed having a letdown. He said "we learned our lesson last year." He's too much of a motivating type of coach to let his team have another effort like that I believe.

Eta: He has a lot of strengths. The man is a very good football coach. He needs to show some constancy and consistently improve as a head coach and he will be considered a very good head coach as well. It's been repeated all summer, this year will be a telling season for him.

Would you look at that Finds a way to blame the offense

BTW: A big chunk of his yds came on a 74 yard run.

The offense put up 430 yards in that game, but turned it over 4 times, which was the killer.

When our worst defensive performance as a team for a season is still exponentially better than anything our offense has done in nearly a decade, you have to expect people to have opinions that reflect that, don’t you?

I'd say Mississippi State was by far a worse defensive performance.
