Billy cannon did the crime and paid his dues.. and then went on to a very productive life…he did not need help from others to regain his positive legacy.. he was already an example of reform and life improvement..
If cannon family is happy I am glad but this is not really what pardons are for imo.. ops above stated it better ..

I think there should be a Trump amendment to the constitution, that allows him ( and just him ) to remain President for the rest of his natural life.

Knowing what Billy Cannon did after his conviction. I.E. performing dental work in the prison and being a public servant in that capacity. I am not sure he would have welcomed the pardon. He served with integrity.
