Yeah about the only time I was surprised was on the long pass out of the I to start the 3rd quarter..
The flip to KW was a little surprise to me as well, just wish MSU had been surprised too.

Don't know if this is true, but it certainly looks that way. If it walks like a duck, it's probably a duck.

he said this?
Someone asked him about playing RS in the 2nd half, and he basically said that he wanted Shep to play in the 2nd half, but he wanted to pass the ball to counteract the stack and was committed to getting CS and KW started running the ball.
Then when someone asked him about practicing the wildcat, he basically said that practicing it can take away significant practice time from the regular offense and "what if you have the wildcat in for one player and that player gets nicked."
So not only is Shep not playing cause he once to establish a nonexistent running game, but he's not practicing the wildcat because RS might get injured.
It sounded like Smoke trying to explain a double steal.

This is a story. Someone should follow up.

there is some merit to that point, however.

which is all the more reason to go back to the huddle, limit the number of formations and use more play-action.

the other teams' know what run we're doing and that's why they can't block
Posted on 9/28/09 at 6:47 pm to SlowFlowPro
ahh obviously all 4 teams know...

It almost seems like Miles doesn't give a frick if the other team knows what play is coming. I mean, if you watch LSU enough, you can pretty much figure out what is coming based on the formation we line up in and the personnel in the game.
And against SEC doormats like Miss St. and Vandy, it shouldn't matter if they do know whats coming. LSU should be able to fire off the ball, knock their guy back and run for first downs.

off topic, but Jimmy Johnson used to say in the Cowboys glory days, (paraphrasing) "I really don't care if they know the play we are running, or not. They're not going to stop us"
