why does a coach who is retiring think it is ok to hang on to a camp and not let the new coach have the same opportunity?

Years of loyalty? Entitlement?

Rumor.....YG wanted to retain the softball camp (a huge revenue stream). PM not happy.
Oh, yeah, sorry, Yvette... YOU left.
If that's true...IF that's true, then I kinda get it. But that shite should've been talked out and Joe should've told YG what was up.
IFFFFFF that's true....

Wonder why it wasn't discussed before he accepted unless it was a surprise....ifffff that's true....to start with.
Considering a position after 13 years at Bama with the great relationship he supposedly had with YG, hmmmmm, sounds suspect, but there has to be a reason as I am just hearing about this.
Any other reasons surface in the 11 pages I missed?

Did you see the one where some alluded to the fact that he's gay and that some at Bama were holding it over his head, so he decided to go back to Bama? That was one of the more entertaining one's...

May be true, because if I was him, I would have certainly hit on Habetz, she is not bad at all...

And let's see the Bham news run a retraction in light of his statement:
"hen I had to make a call to LSU. They were incredibly kind, nice professional.
They did everything the right way. I had to put two schools through the same thing. That's weighing on me, big time."

I've spent way too much time thinking about women's softball, but the more I read this stuff, the more I think the guy's a little off.
First, he says the La. native was the one questioning whether they should stay. "robably Sunday morning. (Alabama assistant Alyson Habetz) had come down. We were in the hotel together. She said, "Does it feel right to you?" And I kept saying to myself, "It'll get better. I'm gonna get through it." People were texting me, emailing me saying, "Stay the course. It'll be all right." "
Then he says the reason he did it is because of a self-esteem problem? He was feeling down about the season? "It was a disappointing day. We had just gotten back from the (Women's College) World Series. It was the end of the year. You're depressed. You're just not feeling good. You get off the plane and then, boom. (LSU athletic director Joe Alleva) called and said, "I hope this is the one call, the only call I need to make." He throws
everything at you and it's like you go from the lowest of lows to like damn, somebody really wants to do something for me. It just kind of snowballed from there. I should have went for a visit. I should have gotten more advice. That was my mistake.
IG: Its nice to feel wanted though."
And then: "Well, next to my dad dying. Right there. I started with the seniors and that was bad, I can't tell you how difficult it was. I cried for two straight hours, basically."
What a flake. Oh well, maybe he'll get to shake the Great Saban's hand now and all will be happy, who knows.

Well .... the gumps are all celebrating in Alabama by sucking each other off.
In terms of recruting the next coach, the statement, "you might have not been our first choice, but you are our final choice" might need to be used.

Thanks for the link Kappa. I have mixed emotions on this one. I appreciate Murphy's honesty and understand his doing what his heart dictates, while also feeling sorry that he will have to live with his immature decision of not visiting first, forever. He appears to be a nice guy.
Conversely, both he & AH may be nominated for some of LSU -LAs most disliked, or at least be considered for honorable mention. I wonder what our girls felt about the retraction although unintentional, a slap in our faces nevertheless. And I can understand why poor JA ended his "looking for a new coach" statement with the word...integrity.
It made us, the coaches and bama all look like fools! But in the end, softball, like all the other sports, is just a game.

Thanks for the link. After reading that, he seems a little unstable. He basically said the season was over and he was depressed and Aleva called him and since someone wanted him he took the job over the phone without a visit. Who does that?

Same kind of guy that offers a job over the phone without meeting someone?

Not really. Alleva trusted our former coach and his record is self-explanatory. It was a good hire, and the guy just seems off his rocker at this point.

if pat was a actual man and coached a mens sport he would be getting harmed for being a pussy. as it is though he cant handle mens sports or being a man.
