re: No issues with team...

Wow, baseball experts giving up after 3?
No because no one cares about the score until the game is over
The greatest quote I ever heard about baseball completely changed the way I looked at the game for the rest of my life.

“Every team’s going to win 54 games, every team’s going to lose 54 games, it’s what you do with the other 54 games that counts.” - Sam Seaborn, The West Wing

That has also been the quote in my profile since I came to TD.

Lot of baseball to be played and this game isn’t over yet.
FYI, LSU devours NC State in the NIL game. We are easily Top Ten in most sports and they are 25th in football spending
If you are watching the game, that last play shows you everything

8 seconds left in a tie game, on the road, against Ole Miss…one guy reaches out for it, can’t grab it, 3 guys watch while 3 ole Miss guys DOVE for it

It’s effort

It’s pride

It’s coaching

He is responsible for the environment and culture
No teamwork

We have no legit center. We are small. We have five guards that all want to take off when the other team shoots.

They watch the game like guards usually do so they can see where the fast break is going to go.

It’s the head coaches job to fix that. No excuses. Go recruit a guy who is massive and knows how to rebound. He doesn’t have to even score, just block and rebound

Since he got to LSU, only one player in his entire tenure here, has averaged more than 7 rebounds a game. Only one. Never had anyone come close to double digit boards

Bumping this thread cause this was a day before the rumor mill started spreading Wade to LSU as a legitimate thing

You can’t honestly make me think Yorke won’t crush one onto Nicholson before the year ends.

It’s 650 feet. Just saying

I Missed These Midweek Meltdowns

Posted by tadelatt on 2/24/26 at 9:57 pm
I’m feeling so nostalgic. It feels like Paul Manieri came back and was coaching us again.

Remember those days? When we would lose midweek games and posters would meltdown trying to convince fans that they were watching the end of LSU baseball or that we wasted money on stadium additions that will destroy us now that we lost a game on Wednesday night to La Tech

I miss those days
Even with those accolades, LSU fans will never cheer for Gators. When Alabama and Florida play each other I put on ESPN8 and watch Dodgeball

Quick question: after really watching dodgeball today, How the frick do these guys make these teams and end up on ESPN? The games are mostly them not dodging the ball or not even knowing that you have to catch it with your hands not your body.

How can you consistently bring in talented recruits, be ranked in the top 25 and yet still end up this bad? Coaching
LSU hasn’t missed the NCAA tourney for 5 straight seasons since 2010-2014

This year will be 5th

tigersbb will be in this thread shortly to rage at you.

I have played basketball and then coached it my entire life. It’s mathematically impossible for LSU to be this bad when we have Top 25 Recruiting Classes and Transfers. We get more talent than most of the SEC schools that have more wins each year than we do.

It’s coaching. His style doesn’t match the way we play down South and it’ll never work
Let’s not forget the classes he has signed…

2023: 47th (2 4-Star)
2024: 14th (3 4-Star)
2025: 32nd (4 4-Star)

So it’s not bad luck. He is bringing talent in plus this isn’t even including the Transfer Portal
Yeah, plus he can either quit coaching or once he signs elsewhere, we deduct that new contract from the buyout. Mitigation clause
Yeah but that ain’t your Gen-Z Vols.

Besides, they play #2 UCLA, Arizona State and Virginia Tech next weekend. (16-2 combined records there)

But it’s still good that Kent State won cause we haven’t played anyone yet lol
They don’t have a choice. If you coached 12-Year Old All-Stars and had these numbers the parents of the kids would petition to keep you from entering the parish.

We would be better off with no coach
It’s just not working out. LSU made a mistake and it’s time to pay him and move on. LSU will not fold if they have to pay that man his remaining

Before SEC Play (Rest of Season)
2022-23: 11-1 (3-18)
2023-24: 8-5 (11-11)
2024-25: 11-2 (2-16)
2025-26: 12-1 (2-12, 4 to go)

2023-24: 17-16 (9-9)
2024-25: 14-18 (3-15)
2025-26: 14-13 (2-12)

Total: 59-66 (16-52)

Forget the Records and focus just on how he has coached the team in some of the more important categories…

Scoring (SEC)
2022-23: 284th (14)
2023-24: 97th (6)
2024-25: 179th (15)

His Contract Buyout Terms (thru 2028-29 season) says that he gets 80% of his Annual Base ($400k) plus 80% of Supplemental (Climbs to $3 million in 2028-29) so estimates are around $7.5 to $10 million.

To prove it, a report in 2024 ranked just college football schools by NIL money they used

NC State - $218 million
LSU - $618 million
