When I think of Pelini,
I think of the time he stiffed a military veteran who Pelini said could call a play in a Nebraska game during a photo-op, then brushed him off during the game. Pelini basically said that he was just kidding when he told the veteran that, but the veteran sure didn't think so and was publicly embarrassed about the whole thing.
Pelini is a piece of shite.

2007 defense collapsed and his Nebraska defenses didn't look too stout. I think he struggles against spread teams.

Ferocious?
Do you remember what we looked like the year we 2-losses our way into the championship? We were extraordinarily bad down the stretch.

The thing I never understood about Pelini's scheme is he puts 215 lb. safeties in nickel and dime CB positions. It makes no sense when it's usually obvious pass downs and they were always mismatched. The guy was terrified of the run or something. Good at stopping the run not so much the pass when you put S out of position. Spread schemes ripped his defense.

I would prefer not to have Pelini and his anger management issues here

The defense was not the same after Charles Alexander went down during the VT game. Don't forget the infamous Chad Ramsey chop block on Dorsey. Also remember Derry was also hurt for much of the last half of the season. Those 3 events IMO led directly to those two losses. Oh and Matt Flynn being hobbled for UK. I always thought Miles should have played Perriloux in that game and sat Matt one more game to heal up.
