Sure seems like this thread took a divergent turn from where OP hoped it would go. It never occurred to me to retain an email from any former academic or other institutions once I left….

Agreed, the word embarrassed is so overused here. In what scenario is anyone personally embarrassed about the outcome of a sporting event they did not participate in?

It’s obviously a combination of many factors. Those discounting the impact of the backlash to wokeism just aren’t being honest as are the people discounting the economic factors like tariffs. But it is also that NIKE in recent times has put genuinely unlikeable people (Rapinoe, Kapernick) front and center of their marketing. This isn’t simply “woke” - choosing unpopular people as the face of your brand is just a risky move. Lastly and maybe most importantly - it seems Nike simply no longer is seen as a “premier” or high end brand.

I’m not a Zach Bryan fan and not sure I’ve ever heard one of his songs. But it seems like for months the promoters have been spamming my inbox hawking tickets for this thing. Seems a far cry from Garth Brooks selling out TS in a matter of hours.
