Pelini needs time
Pure BS.
This was a “comfort” hire by Orgeron. Pelini’s last defenses at YSU were bad. The Big1G he coached in was very traditional from an offense standpoint. He was a poor choice.
Orgeron could have found a guy with an attacking style that was a better fit for the current game.
Same with Linehan hire.

because zone is much easier to play?
Never said it was “easier”, but possible better suited given the offense you were up against with 3rd and 4th string CB
Also:

Out West, the Washington Huskies had great success running any type of zone coverage against Leach’s attack. Over the past two seasons, the Huskies ran Cover 1 or Cover 2 man only eight times on 114 pass plays. They also rushed three or fewer players 77% of the time. They chose to sit back and allow Gardner Minshew and Anthony Gordon to make mistakes. In two games, those quarterbacks combined for only 459 yards, 0 touchdowns, four interceptions and five sacks. Meanwhile, LSU allowed over 600 yards in one game.

How much time did Leach need? He got a QB and installed a new offense with almost no offseason.

Saying "Oh we're just going to keep running this because that's what we do" is bad coaching.
This is the exact thing that got Les Miles run out of town on a rail.

better than 600 fricking yards to state.
This is the only quote that should matter..... you don't get paid 2.3 million and let a record like that be your debut.

Got damn, no-one was asking for an under 200 yard day with a shutout.
What people was expecting was NOT to have the single game yardage broken by mississippi fricking STATE in baton rouge.
frick all that noise about "giving him time". Get outta here.
