And I'm sure of this - Arkansas has been, is now, and will forever be a shite SEC program.

gotta love it when a fan of a team that's lost to Arkansas two years in a row continues to call Arkansas 'shite'.

he has no personality and he can't recruit. He's struggling getting any good talent in the state of Arkansas. Nutt owned the state of Arkansas.

His big east record was built with more Nfl draft picks than anyone else in the league whom were mostly prop 48's. There are 3 players starting from his 06 recruiting class.

Petrino is a fine offensive coordinator and qb developer but I think he'll either leave for greener pastures asap or get fired in a few years.

"No comment on Miles, but Petrino is overrated. You'll see long term".

You should be concerned about the shot term also.

I'm quite aware of the series record and my point still stands.

to put Petrino's quote into perspective, I'm pretty sure he was asked how last season's win against LSU makes him feel going into LSU this season. He gave a pretty straight forward answer. To construe it as smack talk is a bit of a stretch.

Do you think Arkansas is good this year? I'm not saying LSU is good this year; but I do believe Arkansas sucks....again. Do you disagree?

Didn't say it was smack. Just simply stated I was surprised he would make a statement in which it appears he thinks Ark will win because it is the same LSU team. Seems to me that statement says "Same team and I know they will make no adjustments".

wildrebeltime, why are you embarrassed to post under your normal name? why the alter?

But i'll bite:

quote:

he has no personality and he can't recruit. He's struggling getting any good talent in the state of Arkansas. Nutt owned the state of Arkansas.

Link?

Nutt didn't own Arkansas when he was the coach there, much less while at Ole Miss.

quote:

His big east record was built with more Nfl draft picks than anyone else in the league whom were mostly prop 48's.

link?

quote:

There are 3 players starting from his 06 recruiting class.

huge attrition rate under Krag, not Petrino's fault Krag couldn't control the team.

quote:

Petrino is a fine offensive coordinator and qb developer

BCS bowl game win as a head coach. Let's see your beloved Nutt do that.

quote:

but I think he'll either leave for greener pastures asap or get fired in a few years.

link? what are you basing this on?

Dude, they were winning that game 25-7 in the 2nd and lost 25-28, there is NO frickING WAY people would forgive Les Miles if he had done that with the NC on the line. Mr Supercharged offense and they didn't score for 2 and half quarters

and then there is the 05 WVU game, up 24-7 with 9 + minutes to go in the game and they lose in OT.

not saying he's not better than Miles, but he's had some big frick-ups that would have lead to rant meltdowns if they happened at LSU.

No, i don't think arkansas is very good this year. The offense is great, but the defense is way too terrible to call this team good overall. We'll still end up with a decent record considering the rebuilding job necessary and the preseason projections.

But again, is the point he was making that LSU consistently loses to shite teams?

No my point was that you took a shot by saying your coach can read a game clock correctly and I simply shot back saying you're still not having a good season regardless of your coach's clock management ability.

hey'll have arky with the same record as LSU in year 2 of a COMPLETE rebuildilng job

Do what? In the 2 seasons before he got there Arkansas won the West and played in the Cap 1 Bowl, and beat the eventual national champs and played in the Cotton. I just don't see how they were some program in shambles before he came in and promptly went 5-7(2-6).

gotcha

i didn't read it as Petrino thinking Arkansas will definitely win, just that when you're playing a team with most of the same players and you won the last time, it'll give the team some extra confidence.

personally, i think LSU's defense matches up well against arkansas's offense. And I expect LSU to come in playing for pride, unlike many who think there could be a letdown. If arkansas is able to pull it out, it'll be a very close game.

not me, my man. you should continue that argument with Road Hogg. it's not my style to make a silly and obvious low blow like that.

You're correct. In 05 LSU had Tennessee down at the half by approximately the same score, then lost the game by being dominated in the second half. Many of us never forgave him.
