I saw him get run over time and time again against West Monroe. He met Frank Goodin in the backfield head up, not at an angle, helmet to helmet, for a 5 yard loss. Goodin threw him down like a little bitch and ran 40 yards for a touchdown.
Yea, he played they game with a separeted shoulder. dick

This is the problem with this board, people making shite up.
A) He missed a takle on Goodin, and yes, he scored. The "threw him down like a little bitch" description is quite dramatic. Cutrera had 16 tackles that night, and kept them in the game when they had no business playing with West Monroe.
B) He did not have a seperated shoulder. He played that game with a bum shoulder, but it had nothing to do with that missed tackle.
I am just amazed that someone can be 5A MVP, be recruited by Saban and Miles (Miles 1st verbal committ), play his first 2 years on teams that went 23-4, and get so much hate.
He is one of the 3 or 4 best LB's on this team. But's let keep talking about R J Jackson, Kelvin Sheppard, Pep Levingston, Jai Eugene, etc. because of all they have accomplished since arriving.

even in high school, he never showed the ability to move east/west very well
he's a pure straightline, ILB type of guy
Actually he showed pretty nice sideline-to-sideline pursuit in high school, of course he was a man among boys then.

It really doesn't amaze me. I have a pretty good idea why he'd receive such criticism.

when he hit goodin his shoulder came out

Then why did you say this, Dick?

Peveto considers Cutrera a starter...
who will be playing all 3 positions this year

when is cut healthy?
after reading this thread there are plenty examples of him not being a good football player, and his posse always replies with, "he was playing with a hurt (insert body part)."
so now the question is...when is he NOT nursing an injured body part?

where is the ricky dixon fan club? he was more heralded coming out of ESJ and he's had similar problems with a lack of athleticism and the holding pattern it made him be in while at LSU
and nobody's hating on cut. saying he's not that good isn't hating on him, especially if it's true
the problem is there are FAR too many people who freak out about him for a variety of reasons (they're from the lafayette area, went to AHS, love the white boy, are related to him, etc). this has to be counterbalanced by reality, sometimes harshly

The only problem I have with this thread is that it sounds like he's being labeled from playing like a freshmen. It's damn near impossible not to improve over the next few seasons.

well he did play as a sophomore, and he was absolutely abused against arkansas
and yeah cut fan club, i know, i know: he was hurt
well he always seems to get hurt. high school, freshman year, sophomore year, etc
cut is a JUNIOR this year. i mean darry was a starter as a true sophomore, and has been. and he gets hurt a lot, but is sitll a whole hell of a lot better than cut. but cut gets 5 times the hype on this board. and darry is from BR!

Everyone was abused against Ark.

Naturally the criticism of Cutrera is going to be magnified since he doesn't get as much PT as the other guys who looked like crap defensively against Arkansas.

I will say that if he's going to be a starter he has to play better. I do on the other hand trust the coaches. Stat's don't lie...but the also don't tell the whole story.

the 2 worst-looking defenders against arky were mccray (at SS) and cut
our DL shouldn't be criticized much, b/c that offense was neutralizing any DL advantage that we had
ali made some bad plays, but otherwise was all over the field. steltz was hurt. taylor was hurt. CJ made some plays
cut? mccray? no real positives and a whole lot of negatives, including tag-teaming on DMac long TD
hell cutrera was also the main guy responsible for a FB getting a 60+ yard TD against us b/c he took a horrible initial angle, couldn't change direction, and couldn't get off a block. that's why he gets singled out: bad play

Clearly. He showed some promise his freshman year but sophomore year was a disappointment (behind an established LB corps, of course).

People were hating just as much on Luke Sanders and he ended up being a pretty damn good LB for LSU by the time he finished.
I'm more than willing to give Cutrera the same chance to prove his worth.

luke sanders was not a good LB or even an average LB
i honestly have no clue how he was our starter over riley or shep

Cutrera is better than Sanders already
Sanders was horrible
