Attendance was still better than what I expected.

It still was larger than Brady coached games

A week before Christmas, students are gone and its a midweek game.

However I dont agree with their ticket procedures. For the four previous games I got in free with an LSU faculty/staff ID. Today they say no and refused to let me in even after I told them look at the poor attendance and wristbands still being given out to maravich maniacs. So they sell tickets for $11.00

Wouldnt they get more people to show up to games like these if tickets were $5.00. What about money made off concession sales for the extra people?

If you think the crowd is embarrassing, then come to the games. Just got back myself, and I have noticed a slow increase in attendance as the season has progressed.

Hopefully the team can go on the road and beat aTm on Saturday. Maybe that will put a few more people in the seats.

For those who complain about attendance and fear the worst, as long as we get off to a good start in the SEC play, as well as beat A&M, WSU, and Xavier, we will have 14K by late January. Trust me.

Just be cause we have a new coach, are undefeated (we really have not played anyone yet) and some of you have this goo goo gaga feeling that we are going places this year....does not mean everyone will turn out

I sat in those chairs for 35 years and saw those crowds- BB is a "if you win we will come" sport. If you do not win consistently- most fans have better things to do

So - beat some SEC teams out of the gate and the numbers will go up

Nothing has change in the PMAC yet

Really? Because the 2006 population estimate was 229,553 according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

I think taxpayers are getting raped by the overbuilding of new stadiums, arenas, etc. That said, I think the rennovations to the PMAC 3 years ago were not so significant. I wish we could build a new one. I think people would sell it out often.

So you're saying that the areas around Baton Rouge have 500,000 people?

Think about it first.

Do you know where the exact city limits are?

This is the case with every major city. Houston city limits: 2 million, Houston area: about 5 million.

Do you realize how fricking retarded this is to argue? Baton Rouge is not 700,000 people. It was for a six month stretch right after Katrina. It's nowhere close to that now. Not even counting the populations of Ascension, Livingston, etc.

yes. A 30 second google search for Baton Rouge MSA will help you "think about it" more.

Don't get your panties in a wad.

But I'm sure you know more than the US Census.

LINK

quote:

Baton Rouge Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) encompasses Ascension, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Point Coupee, St. Helena, West Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana parishes and is currently the largest metro area in Louisiana, with a 2005 pre-Hurricane Katrina population estimate of 729,000 persons and a 2006 population estimate of 779,000.

are they supposed to let you in free if you are faculty/staff? This may encourage me to attend more frequently

Don't worry. It's bad all over.

Maybe 1000 in Coleman tonight.

There was a sign on the student ticket entrance door that said faculty/staff free for the previous games. Today the sign was gone and asked them about it and they said I need to go to the ticket office as faculty and staff do not get in free.

I dont have a lot of money like many do here so paying $11 for every home game is out of the question. I would like to support the tigers especially in times like these where attendance is sparse

The website says:

FACULTY/STAFF: Men s Basketball No discount for individual games

STUDENTS: No discounts available Free w/Student ID

Would it kill LSU to give a discount (like $5 tickets) for faculty and staff? Attendance is pretty poor and it might encourage a few more to go.

I think I had all 500k people BR has added trying to work on replacing my roof today. They are now known as illegal immigrants. That would be why the census would not show them.
