You mean where we choked at home against Arkansas?
Where a 5-6 Pitt team had to bail Les Miles out?

Ya we didn't see that coming. No one did.

Ton of tickets outside stadium for West Va game - I think some people are watching games in parking lot on HD instead of going into stadium now

You are freaking delusional, man.

Fans want to see exciting football, however it is played. People, including myself, have no idea what kind of offense we run. My guess, "high school" comes to mind. Having your qb skip balls to the receiver, after throwing it over their heads is not an offense.

Since you seem to know alot, you tell me?

I agree with most of this. People definitely find high-powered offenses exciting. In many cases defense is more important than offense, but we probably all can admit that we would like to see a bit more out of the offensive talent LSU has. You know, to take some pressure off the defense.

And you're probably right on about the hypothetical 49-35 wins. Wouldn't have nearly the amount of bitching we have now.

There's a funny thing about the 1988 Auburn game.

I was a student at the time and had many classes in the old Geology bldg. I walked past that seismometer all the time. It was VERY sensitive as it was designed to pick up reverbrations from earthquakes half way around the world. It would detect the cleaning lady mopping the fllor at night.

What many peopl also don't realize when they look at the seismograph of the earthquake game was that for a normal football game the graph was generally high throught the game - spiking at points and dropping at other points.

My point to all of this was that I was at the 88 Auburn game. As I sat in the stands watching LSU thwart Pat Dye over and over (I'm still not sure why he gave up on that power running game so early, it seemed to be working for him) I was ecstatic. I was hooting and hollering the whole time LSU was on defense.

But here's the rub - everyone around me was catatonic. There was no noise on third downs into the 2nd quarter. They were looking at me like I was too drunk or something.

Then it happened, the pass from Hodson to Fuller. Yes, it showed up on the seismograph. It would have anyway. The main thing that graph showed was how silent the stadium was throughout most of the game. The fans were bored. If it had been a high-scoring game, the seismograph would've shown what it showed for most games, a high level of vibration coming from the stadium, but all it really showed was the differnece between a silent Tiger Stadium and more 'normal' sound levels for an average football game. It only got up to the normal level at the very end of the game.

The "Earthquake Game" is a misnowmer, it should be called the "Morgue Game".

And yet NOW that game is seen as some kind of GREAT game - when I swear I saw people sleeping in the stands.

People just don't like to watch great defense.

I just want to see us consistantly average more passing yards than penalty yards.
I am not a sheep. I know what is coming against Florida, Bama, Auburn, and Arkansas if your offense doesn't get better.
As of right now, what do the sunshine pumpers have to show me the offense is heading into the right direction?

This was a top 25 matchup no less. In years past you couldn't get anywhere in the lower bowl for $25-$35 a ticket.

bama 2008 was one of the most insane price inflation scenarios i've seen as an LSU fan, and this is what happened to me

1. i was at a tailgate, and got offered a FREE ticket (dude didn't show up) 15 min before we went over

2. on the way to the stadium, we tried to sell the other and couldn't get $20 for it

and this was SEZ and a great view

Not sure, but Tchop obviously thinks that we suck as being fans because we have a strong feeling that we will be beaten when we start playing better teams.

Ask him.

Exactly.

JJ could win vs UT, and then stink it up against UF. Lee could come in for McNeese, light it up and then go on to win the rest of their games. With a few lucky breaks, LSU could go into the BCSCG with one loss and win yet another championship.

Yet people say that they KNOW LSU's offense will lose 2-4 games this season - bullshite.

They don't know shite.

The fact is that if LSU fans had just sat back and enjoyed the 2007 season without getting all bent out of shape over losing to a couople of unranked teams, they could have saved a lot of money on Maalox.

The LSU fans are generally ignorant, impatient and prone to complain a lot - even during great years.

We're lucky to have Miles coaching At LSU, we don't deserve him.

Eventually Alleva will notice what is happening, but it will not be because of ticket sales.

Everyone in the athletic department, especially Alleva, is very well aware of the fans opinions and thoughts. His hands are tied right now. It's financial decision. right now it's cheaper to have miles pissing fans off than it is to buy him out. If miles loses 4-5 games this year... that will change. We are still selling out games right now and people are still making TAF donations. The fact is we have thousands of no-shows and even more fans leave the games early even when they ARE happy with the product on the field.

I talked to Dye after he retired and he said that game was the biggest regret he had of his coaching career. He said he still had not gotten over it. The worst coaching job he had ever done.

stupidest comment in the history of TD

You an idiot...obviously someone you know who knows someone can get you a damn ticket for free dumbass!! I'm talking about buying from the folks trying to sale particularly on the corner of stadium and nicholson where the majority of selling goes on.

If that were the case, they wouldn't be leaving in droves in the 4th quarter of a one-score game against a ranked opponent.

I really feel for those defensive players. They deserve better than to watch their fans abandon them while playing lights out football in the second half.

LSU fans ALWAYS think that.

That's why they suck, they don't show faith in the team or confidence in the coaches. It's CONSTANTLY a catastrophe syndrome here - even in championship years. That's why Saban had to actually lecture the fans on the topic.

Good ol' "Tie" Dye.

I'm glad LSU could supply that for him.

Lulz.

We saw the 2005 LSU-Florida game from the 4th row of the SE corner, and made $20 profit on the three tickets that we finally bought.

There are 92000+ tickets printed for EVERY game in Tiger Stadium.

The TWO tickets that dude you're "negotiating" with has aren't the last two on the planet, rest assured.

LOL! Yeah, I love paying him top five coaching money so we can average 4 losses a year and look sloppy doing it. That is what we have done the past two years and that is where we are headed.
I feel damn lucky. Don't you.

The '07 championship gets belittled because of Miles. LSU fans actually belittling a NC. The Miles Haters have to because to give credit to it means they have to give credit to Miles.

They point to the '03 title as being better. It was shared. Why? Because the Great One laid an egg against Ron Zook and UF. Double Digit underdog has to beat OU and Boise has to beat Hawaii or we are out of that one as well.

Both championships are special to me. They both mean the same thing. We were in both. We won both in dominant fashion. Both coaches get the credit in my book.

At least he understood, and maybe learned from his mistakes.

Miles is putting his career on the line for JJ and Crowton.

I hope Miles turns this thing around. I love the fact that LSU does things the right way with recruiting. If someone f's up, they are gone. No matter how good that player is. Yes, Perriloux had extra chances, but he was still let go, even though Les knew he would be in trouble with his qb's for a while.

I just wish Miles still had the balls he did when he first got here. (Fake punt on his first posession, ever. In his own endzone. The "Flynn to Bird" play verses Auburn.)
