That's what I love about Canada's philosophy. In today's game, to beat the Alabama's of the world, the worst thing you can be on offense is predictable and constantly play to your tendencies. You have to make the defense play honest and try to get them guessing about what you will do next. It's just been too darn easy for opposing coaches to prepare for our offense. I have a good feeling that is fixing to change in a big way.

yep. it is called USING THE WHOLE FIELD. stretch them horizontally with jet sweeps, toss sweeps, bubble screens, etc, then gouge them vertically with runs and passes up/down the middle.
It is my humble opinion that this is what we should have done to Bama the last few years.

No question about it. We won't be able to beat Bama without being unpredictable on offense, stretching the defense horizontally and vertically, and breaking the tendencies we've shown. To beat a defense like Alabama's, an offense has to mix it up a lot, and with Coach Canada, I'm sure LSU will.

I won't be surprised if we see that quick shovel pass. Pitt used it against Clemnson and it was pretty damn effective. Especially on the first drive.

well a jet sweep is alot more effective than a short side option or toss dive.
LSU has had many huge rush games with toss power btw.

We'll use this too. I expect our offense to look more like Ohio State's in recent years.

If executed properly it could be a great play to utilize. It just seems like a risky play if a D line gets a good jump on the ball. I'm sure it is a ROP by design which in turn will minimize that risk. Still would make me a little nervous watching though. I've noticed how DE makes rushed decisions when in a tight spot (if he were to start of course).

All this talk of "using the whole field" is interesting. We're allowed to do that? You mean we don't have to bunch everyone in tight and pitch it back to a running back who then runs as hard as he can into the pile??
You guys are just talking crazy now.

It's so nice to have an OC who understands that motion and misdirection can actually be utilized.

That's a great play against an aggressive D. I look forward to seeing some of that next year.

Why is getting stopped on a jet sweep any worse than getting stopped on any other play?

Here we go with people doing the "all or nothing" thing. So you think the fan base will now melt if we don't convert 3rd down on the first series on offense? Stop this foolishness.

Hopefully miguel james has eligililibility left

ETA: For everyone getting bent out of shape over this, I don't have anything against the jet sweep and realize it can be a part of an effective gameplan. It just appears to be Canada's favorite play call and once we get stopped on a critical third down trying to use a jet sweep, watch this board meltdown.
he likes to run a lot of stuff off of jet sweeps
there are games where they harp on it, but it pulls the linebackers out of position for some inside option stuff

I've always liked the Jet Sweep because it sounds cool as frick

I remember the days of skylar green... he ran the jet sweep to perfection .
I'm really liking the idea of drake davis on a jet sweep.
