Dear Mr. Eauxld, your profanity was directed toward me, you obviously missed my point that directed cursing is totally different. It appears that several people in this thread have a fear of their kids copying the behavior of individuals at a game. I say that you might want to do a better job of teaching your kids the morals you are trying to push on everyone else. The type of trauma being caused to you people by strangers saying words makes you just as weak willed and small minded as the people you are complaining about. Student section in the upper deck would ruin TS. Bust out your crystal and china and go tailgate in the grove with the Ole Myth fans, your self rightousness would fit in quite well there.

No its not. But civilized society has traditionally found words that weren't offensive to the masses to express their feelings. This loss of a "genteel society" is alarming to many of us. And hopefully one day your level of education and maturity will rise to a level where it will be undesireable to you as well.

It does not happen in the "Red Zone". My kids and I have sat there ever since it was built and we have a great group of families around us. Not to say that the occasional idiot doesn't pipe up every now and then, but don't lump Razorback Stadium in as an offender because that's just not the way it is!

Edit: Sorry guys I was replying to an idiot Razorback fan (yes, we have a few) that said DWRRS was full of fans that can't watch their mouths. Just not true for the most part.

Oh, yes, the people of Arkansas are so elevated and refined that nary a curse word escapes their blessed lips during the time that their beloved Hogs are on the gridiron. Why, I've heard that Jesus once sat in the Red Zone. The Pope has been known to watch videos of games in Fayetteville to learn the niceties of civilized interaction. What's most amazing is that this paragon of cordiality comes from a fan base that cheers on its wholesome boys by squealing...like a pig.

I sent Herb Vincent an email that said "Maybe LSU can learn from its pro football and basketball counterparts because the Superdome and Arena have eviction policies set up. LSU chooses to ban songs rather than remove the offender(s). Banning songs might be easier but it's not solving the problem, it's just masking it because the students will find a way to add profanity to another song.

Superdome Rules:

What is the eviction policy?
The following behaviors or activities are causes for eviction from the Louisiana Superdome:

• Use of profanity or unacceptable language of any type
• Possession of illegal or unauthorized items inside the Louisiana Superdome and New Orleans Arena
• Unacceptable dress
• Public drunkenness
• Entering or attempting to enter any “off limit” area such as the playing surface, stage area, backstage, or restroom of the opposite sex
• Participating in a fight or instigating a physical or verbal altercation
• Verbally abusing, threatening, or intimidating other patrons or building employees
• Throwing any object from box suites, balconies, ramps, etc. onto lower or upper areas
• Throwing objects of any type at other patrons, employees, or guests of the Louisiana Superdome and New Orleans Arena
• Possession of stolen tickets
• Possession of any unauthorized banners or signs
• Smoking indoors

I really hope we go bowling in New Orleans so some of these idiots get tossed out of the game.

When you see someone excusing, condoning, defending, profanity...you just have to shake your head and wonder why. Somewhere, somehow we as a society have lost much of our consideration and decency toward others. It use to be called immaturity....but now, it seems just to be poor upbringing and a lack of simple good manners IMO.

I curse sometimes too so I can't point fingers at everyone who curses now and then, but I find that stupid people curse often because they aren't intelligent enough to think of other words.

I have been to a lot of away games and went to other stadiums growing up. LSU is the worst, and LSU has a reputation for it.

If you used any words but F*^% things would be ten times better.

What happened to just yelling "damn it"?

Tell me about it. You are an idiot if you think the First Amendment allows you to scream F*(& as loud as you can in a public place.

Hopefully you just mistyped this, because if you are being snarky prepare for the BOOM.

SUBPART C. OFFENSES AFFECTING THE
GENERAL PEACE AND ORDER
§103. Disturbing the peace
A. Disturbing the peace is the doing of any of the following in such manner as would foreseeably disturb or alarm the public:
(1) Engaging in a fistic encounter; or
(2) Addressing any offensive, derisive, or annoying words to any other person who is lawfully in any street, or other public place; or call him by any offensive or derisive name, or make any noise or exclamation in his presence and hearing with the intent to deride, offend, or annoy him, or to prevent him from pursuing his lawful business, occupation, or duty; or
(3) Appearing in an intoxicated condition; or
(4) Engaging in any act in a violent and tumultuous manner by any three or more persons; or
(5) Holding of an unlawful assembly; or
(6) Interruption of any lawful assembly of people; or
(7) Intentionally engaging in any act or any utterance, gesture, or display designed to disrupt a funeral, funeral home viewing, funeral procession, wake, memorial service, or burial of a deceased person.
(8) Intentionally blocking, impeding, inhibiting, or in any other manner obstructing or interfering with access into or from any building or parking lot of a building in which a funeral, wake, memorial service, or burial is being conducted, or any burial plot or the parking lot of the cemetery in which a funeral, wake, memorial service, or burial is being conducted.
B.(1) Whoever commits the crime of disturbing the peace shall be fined not more than one hundred dollars or imprisoned for not more than ninety days, or both.
(2) Whoever commits the crime of disturbing the peace as provided in Paragraphs (A)(7) and (8) of this Section shall be fined not more than one hundred dollars or imprisoned for not more than six months, or both.
Amended by Acts 1960, No. 70, §1; Acts 1963, No. 93, §1; Acts 1968, No. 647, §1; Acts 1979, No. 222, §1; Acts 2006, No. 805, §1.

Now the debate becomes interesting if by definition TS is not a public place. If not LSU could still have people tossed if it violated their own rules.

Fine I understand it's a football game and people curse, but use common sense and don't do it in front of children and grandma or grandpa.

THat was a typo. I was talking about a "community standards" test that is often applied.

I was agreeing with you.

I haven't read this thread, but I hope this is about how there isn't enough in TS. Have a great day.
