He has great athletic ability and burst to go with that size. He showed flashes of being a great defender and distributor. I think he's a 4-year player for us and if he can develop a SEMBLANCE of a jumper, he could be pretty damn good

I don't think he'll ever be a good shooter. However, there aren't alot of 6'6" PGs in CBB. His athletic ability brings alot to the table. I think being a Garret Temple like player is a good comparison. He's not there yet, but there's no reason to think he can't get to that point.

Obviously someone has to go. TQ didn't have a great freshman year, but I hope he isn't the odd man out.

I don't care about your 93rd percentile. what other meaningless stats can you provide us? he was far from an excellent defender.

Plenty so here you go...

In 36 possessions where he guarded the P&R ball handler, 20 points were scored. 22.2% FG%, 24.1% aFG% (adjusted), 13.9% TO and scored on 27.8% of the Possessions.

Next, In ISO situations... 8 points were scored in 19 possessions. 21.4% FG (and aFG), 21.1% TO and scored 21.1% of the time. So they were as likely to score as they were to turn it over.

Lastly, in guarding players coming off of off the ball screens, 5 points were scored on 12 possessions. 9.1% FG (13.6 adjusted) and scored 16.7% of the time.

In 113 total possessions (includes Spot Ups, Handoffs and even 2 post ups with those 3 listed above) he allowed 75 points on 113 possessions (57 on 94 in man, 18 on 19 in zone).

Enough?

Again, I don't want TQ out. Just not sure I will get what I want.

I don't think it comes down to this. Not sure they are relevant at all. It wouldn't be a staff decision, but a TQ one.

no, because you can spout off all the stats you want. if you watched the games and not rely on stats alone you would see that he was ok on defense and horrible on offense.

Yeah, I cringed every time he went up this year. All I want is for him to be a decent shooter when it's all said and done. I think his size, athletic ability and passing ability could help forget about shooting deficiencies down the line.

He was horrible on offense and guess what, stats back it up.

I watched almost every game (except when I had a game). When he was in, it was clear the difference he made on the defensive end. Stats simply back that up. Not talking about raw numbers like Mickey (who was terrible on ball), we're talking about what other players did scoring wise against him and it was ugly for them.

He really gave Clarkson and Releford--two of the better PG's in the league--a lot of trouble last season. He could be a neutralizer for us down the road.

5th or 6th best player on that stacked U-High team? U-High lost 4 games in 2 years. Temple was injured and out for 3 of them.....and the 4th he was playing with a bad ankle...
