I personally enjoy being in the best conference in the land.

wont change based on tonights game fwiw
Not in reality, but possibly in perception - plus an SEC win tonight ensures that next season's SEC champ is likely in the BCSNCG, even with a loss (or two).
The 2 loss 2007 LSU Tigers (getting in the BCSNCG) benefitted greatly from the conference's stature.

quote:TX has 100's of D-1 players, they can take 25 a year. LSU has an will continue to get TX kids that UT doesn't take. That's not gonna change bc of what happens tonight.
shite...which state do we get more talent from TX or AL... Plus you still have, your playing in the best conference argument for recruiting...

Not true. There are kids in Louisiana who have dreamed their whole life playing for the Tigers. I doubt it hurts us in state.

a loss tonight won't change the overall perception unless bama gets completely blown out. SEC will still have 4 NC's this decade. SEC's reputation is not on the line tonight, it's been est. through the last few decades

Just for you I changed my favorite team.

Myth.
We jumped Georgia b/c they didn't win their division. We jumped VT because we embarrassesd them. We jumped WV b/c Pat White got hurt and they lost. We jumped Missouri because they lost. It had nothing to do with our conference. The voters realized that they were putting someone in the NC and we got there by default.

Does Texas winning help LSU recruiting?
exactly. people talking about recruiting being hurt by bama winning are in my opinion overreacting.
like i said in another thread, did our winning the 2007 championship hurt bama that much? florida?
i am rooting for bama to win to keep the title in the SEC, and so i don't have to listen to stupid texas fans talk about how they are better than the SEC. and i love seeing those "high powered big12" offenses get shut down.

it draws more attention from kids across the country making it easier for bama to recruit elite athletes, which directly affects LSU who has to play them every year.

in no way shape or form does bama winning help LSU, it only makes LSU's job in the SEC that much tougher
Do you want to play in the toughest conference or not?? Quit being a poon about it. Id much rather an SEC team take the championship than some piece of shite big 12 team.

I can not and will not pull for Bama.
I can not and will not pull for Texas.
I personally hope Mike Leach shows up in Pasadena and locks both teams, coaches included, in a closet leaving the championship for this season vacant, meaning we have to play the season over again this spring w/o Crowton. If only such wild ideas were possible...........

What an arrogant prick you are. Just in case you didn't know, it doesn't really matter who we pull for because it won't change the fricking outcome of the game.

they are already getting recruits. again, how much did our championship hurt bama?

Why did we get in over 11-2 Oklahoma - Big 12 champion that had just beaten #1 Missouri in Big 12 Championship game?

It's just a stupid thread in general considering none of this will change the outcome of the game.
Posted on 1/7/10 at 2:38 pm to TigerFan55555
More of our recruits come from Texas than Bama...its that simple.
Posted on 1/7/10 at 2:39 pm to Chazz Reinhold
Anyone that's been an LSU fan for more than 10 years will never pull for Bama. You younger guys are used to seeing LSU beat Bama, and thus have not developed the depth of hatred that those of us who watched Bama repeatedly ruin LSU's season. For us, Bama hatred exceeds SEC pride or dislike for any other teams.
