What goes up eventually comes down, This is not the Bear Bryant era of college football. It's been Miles and LSU's turn in the barrel, Saban will experience the same frustrations if he stays long enough no matter the level of talent he recruits. Just take a stroll down memory lane for the past 20 years, you had Florida and Tenn, then LSU, Auburn, USC, Florida, and now Bama. I'm just glad it's Saban and Bama the media are stuck on now instead of Carrol and USC. When Saban has a down year, who will be the next media darling. Talent and coaching alone don't win championships. Injuries, player screw-ups, players leaving early or to play baseball, assistants that don't work out, and just plain luck all factor into the equation. You have the play the hand your dealt.

As someone posted earlier, it will interesting to see what happens if he stays longer than 4 years someplace. Could be decline would set in. Competition is too fierce for him to stay atop for much longer.

Death Valley was like our practice field for over 30 years. We roll bigger this year in BR than any of Sabans last two victories.

Alabama is 12-0 LSU 9-3 We are playing in the SEC CG, LSU is not. We are definitely going to a BCS bowl, LSU is not. In my opinion, there is a huge difference in 2 and 3. Also, we are not questioning our entire coaching staff every weekend. Also, our fans don;t leave the stadium and quit on the team when we are right n the middle of possibley going into overtime. That display by y'alls fans last night was fricking pathetic and on national television none the less. We own the west.

frick no, he is terrible. He will be the final nail in that coffin of a program.

There is about 3/4 Alabama fans that post that crap, and many on SEC Rant/MSB/and on here before have stated the reason they like Miles is because he reminds them of Shula and would be an easy win.

I was listening to a sports radio show in Atl and one of the hosts made a comment (regarding Mark Richt but it fits this as well.) Chuck Oliver said "the first sign that you need a new coach is when all of your rivals think you should keep the one you have!" Seems to fit here since you are on an LSU board trying to talk everyone into thinking LM is a good coach.

in regards to my previous post, the host used Shula as an example. He went to Auburn and mentioned all the Auburn fans like Shula for those reasons.

Les Miles is a good administrator, but cant pick asst's to save his arse and he is too loyal. Saban is the best college coach in America PERIOD!

The best college coach to turn around an underperforming program - Yes, that he has proven to be good at.
The overall best coach in America, that has yet to be proven. Can he maintain or sustain a program. Can his personality handle a season or two when his has a downturn? That we and you don't know. He had ONE good year at Michigan State and bolted for LSU after that. The year after LSU won the National Championship his team went 8-4 and he bolted at the end of that year for Miami. He couldn't get it turned around in Miami so he bolted there for Alabama. He has rebuilt Alabama but lets see what he does, not if but when, Alabama's turn on top cycles down. And you know it will, just like Florida's did and is doing again, just like USC's is doing and just like LSU's did the last two years. What kind of coach will Saban be then. Can he handle adversity? Or will he cut and run again. Or look for another challange? (Maybe Penn State after Paterno) And don't say you know the answer to that, because no one does. There's no track record with Saban except for lying and leaving.

The last two years we have gotten way up to play Bama, and then had a major letdown the next week against Ole Miss.

And your point is what? You don't think Saban had Alabama way up to play us?
